Meredith Hooper

Enchanted Lion Books, 2004

The Amazing Castle Book
My six-year-old son says, "This artist is a very good artist. He is great at drawing buildings and is great about knowing everything that is going on in his pictures. My favorite buildings in his book are the ones in water and the ones with lakes in them. My most favorite one of all is Caernarfon Castle from 1320." He takes this book to bed with him and examines each page very carefully.

Ancient Egypt (Picturing the Past)1 review

Enchanted Lion Books, 2004

Excellent book
I shared this book with my child, a kindergartner. The pages have good text, good drawings and photographs, weblinks on each topic. The book also provided a text box for each topic explaining how modern day people know about the Egyptians called "How Do We Know". I found this especially interesting.

Maria Angeles Julivert

Enchanted Lion Books, 2006

The emphasis on observation goes beyond identification
Color photos, drawings, and a 'handwritten notebook' approach turn BIRDS into something special: a field guide kids can use to easily learn about birds and their identification. The emphasis on observation goes beyond identification, though, to cover the science of bird flight, natural history, and physiology. A lovely, different kind of children's guide.

Jin Jin the Dragon2 reviews
Grace Chang

Enchanted Lion Books, 2008

Pure Enchantment
THis is a fabulous book; as entertaining for the parents as the kids. It's a charming story, but the best thing about it is that it teaches you all about Chinese culture and the Chinese attitude toward dragons. As the father of a 3-year-old and 6-year-old, I couldn't recommend it more.

The Life of Jesus (Art Revelations)1 review
Neil Morris

Great Book of Religious Art!
I used to teach at a Catholic school so I could have shared this book, but in public school, I probably wouldn't be allowed to. Too bad, religion has always been a major theme in art and if art is to be truly studied and revered, Renissance art shouldn't be ignored. The paintings of this book include works by Raphael, da Vinci and others. Of course, the naked pictures would shock too, when ...
