How Do Dinosaurs Say Good Night? 121 reviews Jane Yolen
HarperCollinsChildren'sBooks, 2007
Look closely, most of the dinosaurs have pets! This is my toddler's favorite of the series. It is the usual whimsical style with beautifully detailed illustrations. We just discovered after many readings that there is a pet on most pages. My toddler loves to look for the dinosaurs' pets as we turn the pages. A refreshing bedtime story.

The Creature in the Case 1 review Garth Nix
HarperCollinsChildren'sBooks, 2005
Free magic Poor Nick Sayre. First he gets enslaved by evil necromancers, and now even house parties go horribly wrong.
In fact, almost everything goes wrong for this much-abused teenager in "The Creature in the Case," a novella spun off after the ending of Garth Nix's classic Abhorsen trilogy. It's a brief little story, but Nix's fantastical horror, odd humor, and suitably gruesome little conspiracy make ...

Fancy Nancy 151 reviews Jane O'Connor
HarperCollinsChildren'sBooks, 2007
The daycare kids go crazy for this! The kids at the daycare where I work get this glazed expression now whenever they see this book - they chant FANCY NANCY over and over. The fancy girls who all love pink and purple and glitter, of course, took to this right away. All of the boys have hovered nearby to overhear what happens, and now they just clamor on in with all the girls to reread the story again and again. It's a great ...

The Sneetches and Other Stories: Mini Edition (Dr Seuss Mini Edition) 56 reviews Dr. Seuss
HarperCollinsChildren'sBooks, 2006
LESSONS LEARNED FOR LIFE Seuss teaches so much to my daughter that I would have a hard time starting a conversation about. My daughter doesn't quite get the stories so she asks me and we have great conversations about right and wrong.

The Complete Chronicles of Narnia 1 review C. S. Lewis
HarperCollinsChildren'sBooks, 2006
Chronicling "Narnia" Many decades ago, two drinking buddies wrote vastly different fantasy series, which set the groundwork for the fantasy genre. One was J.R.R. Tolkien, author of the classic "Lord of the Rings" and "The Hobbit." And the other was C.S. Lewis, the author of the philosophical "Space Trilogy." Before these two, fantasy was only a few books by a small number of obscure authors.
Many years later, ...
