Excellent as always
First this isn't an ID guide and no one should approach it as such. Books for the purposes of identification abound. The Blue Book assumes you have ID'ed your doll. Second, this is a guide and more importantly it is a HISTORY of values (prices paid at shows, auctions, etc.) since the last one was published. The market has a way of fluctuating and the book is not gospel, just a guide. If you're ...

Great book for new doll collector
I think Jan Foulke is the leading authority on doll collecting. This is a great book for beginners. It gives great advice on what to look for in a quality doll. The dolls condition can be just as important as its rarity etc... This book is not thick, but has great tips and advice. I would recommended any book by Jan Foulke. She also sells dolls on Ebay.

The Cutest Doll Story Ever!
This is a most delightful picture story about five porcelain dolls sculpted by doll artist, Martha Armstrong-Hand. The dolls come to life through a dream narrated by Ms. Hand's granddaughter, Beth. In the dream, after the dolls tie Beth up, they get into all kinds of mischief. Their mischievous antics are illustrated in color. I laughed out loud at their devilish behavior as I imagined real ...

The instructions are definitely brilliant and easy to understand, yet everything comes out looking like it was so verrrrryyyy complicated! A sheer joy to have and work with! You'll be ecstatically delighted!

Steiff Identification and Price Guide Book
Good book. Has many pictures which help identify the different time periods as well as detailing the tags, eyes, material that the animal is stuffed with etc. There is also an index in the back which shows the time periods starting in the '80's through the 90's and beyond. It does not cover every animal in every time period but it is a good base book to have on your shelf.

Paris Collection French Doll Fashions & Accessories : French
As a novice french fashion doll collector, I found this book to be very helpful. I learned about the different types of fashion dolls and what to look for before I buy one. It also gives great detail on the dolls accessories, especially their dresses. I also like the fact that this book contains patterns of original french fashion gowns so you could make your own reproduction of the real thing.
