Complex Realism
The best thing I can say about Rolemaster is that is injects a much-needed dose of realism into RPG's. When I finally got sick of playing DnD, it was because I had seen a character standing and laughing in front of a guard who was shooting him repeatedly with a crossbow. The crossbow was completely ineffective on the high level PC and this was, obviously, ridiculous. Being shot with a crossbow in ...

Best RPG System Ever Designed
Boy was I shocked to find this book out-of-print. One of the easiest systems to ever use, AND it was FAIR! You KNEW your character and villians were evenly matched using this point based system. Not to mention DISADVANTAGES was probably the best addition to a gaming system. It definitly made people think about rounding out their characters more, and made the whole game much more enjoyable. ...

Amon-Ra demands that you buy this book!
The Rolemaster Campaign Classics series was a series of carefully researched titles which contained all of the background information and story hooks that you could possibly need to run a successful campaign in the setting. Mythic Eygpt is a fantasy setting closely based upon the myths and legends of ancient Eygpt. Mummies, pharohs, gods, djinns, encroaching deserts - its all here; with game ...

Valuable - as all the Companions
Rolemaster Companion V has the same format as all the other Companion books. It presents new character classes and optional rules. I didn't find anything too significant on the rules section but I liked all the 3 new classes (Wizard, Forcemage and Maleficiant) a lot. The book also has many new spell lists for all these three plus some older character classes. Especially druid fans should love ...

Excellent brain food for any game system!
I came across a recommendation for this book while I was preparing to run a few horror scenarios in my AD&D campaign. While it is a Rolemaster supplement, I have to say that it's absolutely the best piece of writing I've ever encountered on running a game of any sort! The author cleverly and masterfully breaks the horror genre down into its more basic elements and gives the GM clear and ...

A bestiary of epic proportions! Encounter dragons, sprites, gorgons, sabertooth tigers, and foes of all stripes, spots, and scales. Even the leviathan is not too big for this comprehensive bestiary! Inside you'll find hundreds of animals, monsters, and races. Many are culled from myth, others are staples of fantasy fiction and games, and many more are completely original -- unlike anything you have ever seen in a role playing game before! ...
