New book shouldn't be priced that high
I honestly couldn't get into the book. With the price I paid for a brand new book, I expected more. This primer is definitely that, a primer full of very basic knowledge. For example, my class studied economics and the health care system near the beginning of the semester. When I started to read the chapter in the book, I realized it was nothing more than a review of my economics course ...

A great "CS 0" text
I am currently using this text for the fifth time in my survey course for non-majors. It does exactly what I want it to do: it gives the students a feel for each of the topics with just enough depth to be rigorous for non-majors without being overwhelming. It's not perfect for my tastes; I do less than a full chapter, for example, when talking about languages (only covering the introductions ...
Legal Aspects of Health Care Administration

George D. Pozgar

Review of Law in Medicine
Pozgar's book is organized by legal topic and cites relevant case law in all instances. It is an excellent overview of American law as it applies to the health care practitioner or organization. He has taken a topic that it difficult to communicate and made it very enjoyable reading. Students will find it much easier reading than most graduate level texts.

The book is incomplete
I took exam yesterday. Now I can compare how well the book prepares for the test. It prepares you partially. The verbal part (reading) is the same as on the test, but vocabulary part is not. I may be had 1 or 2 words out of entire book on the test. The best I can suggest, buy SAT verbal book to go over words , because they expect you to know high school lever vocabulary words. Math part was very ...

Duh. . . Tarascon is the Gold Standard for drug reference
I've been a practicing internist for more than 10 years. Although much of my practice and reference materials are on computer, nothing can take the place of my Tarascon Pharmacopoeia. It is an absolute must for not only medical students and residents, but all those in primary care. I call it my "drug brain" and I feel lost without it.

Excellent, Easy and User Friendly
This is a great text for anyone studying epidemiology. Each chapter on the various aspects of Epi (ie, Confounding, Effect Modification, Random Error, Bias, Causation, etc) is readable, relatively short chapters (no more then 20 pages) and very clearly explains the necessary information. Each chapter then has a concise (less then one page) summary, perfect for test studying or board review. In ...

Altho a difficult read this is a great teaching text
This text provides informative and up to date information regarding a broad range of drug related topic. Althought the reading level is not easy, the information is extremely useful for drug counselors. The information presented regarding psychopharmacology provides an excellent base of preparation for the certification test used in many states. I highly recommend this text as well as many of ...

Health Care in a Nutshell
I'm graduating this semester in Health Care Mangement. I reference this book my entire time. This book was a great summary of healthcare. Many say it's hard to read, but I think it did a very good job getting the point across. Before reading this book, I had no knowledge of health care. I felt this one book was able to cover every aspect of health care. This book is well worth it.

Excellent Resource - Not for Beginners
I graduated from The Ohio State University and used this book for the multiple finance classes we are required to take in the MHA program. This book is not designed for beginners. It was written for those that have experience in the healthcare field and more specifically the business sector of healthcare. The prerequisite for that program is to already have multiple finance and accounting ...
