now i know all about shoemaking
i love this book for all the photographs inside. it's extremely helpful in understanding the art of shoemaking as opposed to shoe manufacturing. the vass brand name and family name churn out exceptionally high quality shoes and boots, and it's great to see a book detailing just that.

Truly Exquisite
This book is a joy to have. Well written and beautifully illustrated, I found this book a pleasure to own. As a dedicated Benz owner, I can appreciate the attention to detail that exists in this book. This is one of those grand coffee table books that you love to leave out for your guests to enjoy.

delisherotic
We have lots of books about the economics of food and its place in the world's economy. There are books about the dietetics of food and its relation to individual health and a healthy life. There are, of course, a million cookbooks and a dozen or so good books about the chemistry and physics of food and cooking. We even have a handful of good books about the history of food (has ...

Paris in a Basket: Markets : The Food and the People (Cookery/Food and Drink)15 reviews
Nicolle Aimee Meyer, Amanda Pilar Smith

Konemann, 2000

Excellent book for what it is
I just got this book today and am very impressed. Lots of good reviews for a reason. Chock full of photos, information and even recipes, all arranged neatly in an easily accessible manner. I don't think this would be the kind of book you would initially want to lug to Paris on a holiday because of its size, but it's pretty tempting because of the information. Highly recommended.

The best hungarian book ever
This book is a real hungarian book. The food is how my mom makes hungarian food and she was born and raised there. It gives information about where the ingredients come from and about the regions of Hungary. If you want a cookbook that is truly Hungarian with recipes that are authentic this book is for you. I have the hardcover version and it's great!

Drive by Shootings : Photographs by a New York Taxi Driver14 reviews

Konemann, 2000

one of the best photo books i've ever bought!
a book of photographs (and some prose) done by a NY taxi cab driver. all the photos were shot with a point and shoot camera, while he was driving his cab. a great example of how a body of work is equal to more than the sum of the parts. in other words, the individual images are not necessarily masterpieces, but when you put them all together, the body of work could definitely be exhibited in a ...

Harley Davidson : Long Live "The Legend!"
I was introduced to this book by a friend who bought it as a gift for a family member. I asked to borrow it, and to my amazement I could not believe all the information and history the book contained. I immediately started searching the web for a copy. This book is a "keeper" for anyone who owns or has an interest in a Harley! I cant wait to see what Dieter & Oluf write about Harleys next!

The Greatet Carmen Of Them All
Carmen is undoubtedly one of the most recognizable operas in the world. There have been many fine recordings in the 20th century and even in the 19th century. Maria Callas (considered by many to be the greatest soprano ever sang the role), Teresa Berganza has sang the role, Tatiana Troyanos, Jessie Norman and various other sopranos who are drawn to the terrific role. Georges Bizet is remembered ...

The Best Cookbook on the West Indies!!!
Both my parents are from the West Indies (Barbados & St. Vincent) and I have seen a lot of cookbooks about the Caribbean.
