Great licks and solos!
The licks in this book are a great follow-up to the Fingerpicking Guitar beginner book. Short licks don't take long to master and sound impressive. Good collection of challenging solos, including a couple Joplin classics. Includes an excellent introduction into open tunings via some great short pieces.

Progressive Guitar Method
Both the beginner book and the supplement do a great job. Unlike some of the other instruction books I own, the Progressive books actually start you at the beginning. The included DVD forces you to learn to read music, a real plus in my opinion. There may be other better beginner instruction methods out there, but I haven't found them yet.
