Morning Has Broken: Hymn Tunes of the British Isles 1 review Penny Rodriguez
Lorenz Publishing Company, 2006
Successful Wedding! This is a great book of nice arrangements at the intermediate level. I used "Morning Has Broken", at the request of the couple, as a wedding processional. The key change made a perfect "bride's entrance" moment, and that final section was the perfect length of time for her to walk down the aisle.

Gloria: Tidings of Great Joy for Piano 1 review Jeff Bennett
Lorenz Publishing Company, 2007
Great! Written music is so hard to decipher it's worthiness to purchase unless the music is in front of you at a keyboard. But thanks to the sample pages here, there is at least an opportunity to get some indication if this is the right music. Fortunately, Bennett's collection of Christmas music is better than the samples. The selections are fresh, interesting and accessible. He's in the Mark Hayes ...

Hymns We Love: Your favorite composers share a few of their favorites 1 review Mark Hayes; Lloyd Larson; Mary McDonald; Ruth Elaine Schram; Larry Shackley; Pepper Choplin
Lorenz Publishing Company, 2006
One of my favorite hymn collections This collection has a nice variety of hymns and arrangers. A few of the less-common hymns are included. Arrangements are musically interesting and only moderately difficult (I was an undergrad piano major and am able to play them with very little practice) while still sounding impressive. I use this book quite frequently for offertories.

Great for a beginner I am new to the organ and needed a lot of easy music that still sounded nice for church. This is one book that has exactly that. The spiral binding is also very helpful.

Resurrection Suite: Vibrant Hymn Settings for Piano 1 review Mark Hayes
Lorenz Publishing Company, 2006
Gorgeous Arrangements This booklet contains 3 arrangements, all somewhat leaning to a more classical side of Hayes. Wow!! Can't help wishing that he'd show us even more of this side of himself!!
These pieces are very vibrant, as the title suggests, and seem to portray so well the spirit of joy in the resurrection of Christ.
I would rate the pieces as medium difficult, with plenty of big chords and octave runs and ...

Mark Hayes for the Intermediate Pianist: Hymn Settings that Touch the Soul 1 review Mark Hayes
Lorenz Publishing Company, 2006
Mark Hayes does it again! Mark Hayes has given some beautiful hymns a new sound and has done it without a lot of fancy, showy, "rip up the piano" type of arrangements. His simple, yet gorgeous arrangements have made his style refreshing. The timing has been changed just a little and the harmonies with a twist make these well-loved hymns take on a new flavor without losing the meaning that have made them so well loved. ...

Excellent I'm a Pianist turned Organist. This is perfect. The arrangements are easy enough to learn in a short period of time. The pedal parts are far from being scarry as opposed to many organ piece.

The Heart of Worship: Contemporary Expressions of Worship for the Piano Soloist 2 reviews arranged by Lloyd Larson
Lorenz Publishing Company, 2006
The Heart of Worship, by Loyd Larson I really love this book - it has beautiful arrangements for the intermediate advanced piano player. Larson uses a lot of suspended chords that are very emotional to the listener (and the player!) I think Here I Am To Worship is my favorite.

Larry Shackley offers "All Nature Sings" as a complement to the many Lent and Easter volumes already available, with arrangements of hymns especially suitable for springtime. Noble tunes such as "This Is My Father's World" and "For the Beauty ...
