The Great Monster Magazines: A Critical Study of the Black and White Publications of the 1950s, 1960s and ...1 review
Robert Michael (Bobb) Cotter

McFarland, 2008

monster movie lovers beware
If you are a fan of comics, you might find this very superficial overview interesting, but fans of monster MOVIE mags will be disappointed. Though he warns in the product description that he covers both film and comic magazines, it is not evenly divided, but very heavily weighted towards comics. When Castle of Frankenstein gets 2 and a half pages, but a Marvel monster comic mag called Monsters ...

McFarland, 2007

Virtually Forgotten Soviet Genocide Against Poles
Piotrowski, the author, dedicates this book: "To the victims of Soviet crimes against humanity". Everyone has heard of what the Nazis did to the Jews, but who ever heard of the 2-3 million Polish gentiles also murdered by the Germans? Even fewer have so much as an inkling of the millions of victims of Communism. The Soviet genocide directed against Poles, reliant as it was on shootings and ...

Marlowe-Shakespeare Connection: A New Study of the Authorship Question1 review
Samuel L. Blumenfeld

McFarland, 2008

Stunning evidence; meticulously researched.
Blumenfeld has made a highly persuasive and thoroughly gripping case that the mere concept of Shakespeare as eminent playwright and poet is a real stretch of the imagination. One cannot, and should not, dismiss the author's thesis that Marlowe--child prodigy, scholar, literary genius, and highly valued spy--is the author of the brilliant poems and plays attributed to Shakespeare. The chapters ...
