No English3 reviews
Jacqueline Jules

Mitten Press, 2008

This beautiful, heartwarming tale is one that is experienced in more and more schools across the country every day!
It was not going to be easy being a new student at Robinson School. Blanca just knew everyone would turn and stare at her and it would be even worse if she couldn't respond to their questions. "No English. Espaņol." Blanca was from Argentina, but Diana, her new seat mate, didn't know that. It really annoyed her that this new girl was getting away with drawing a little blue house with a ...

A wonderful experience for young readers, especially those who have or want to have a pet
"Our Walk in the Woods" is a special picture book about a young girl named Abby and her dog, Kirby, who enjoy taking an early walk in the woods in the spring. The experience of the walk is told from both the girl's and the dog's viewpoints, with different print to show whose eyes we are looking through. Nicholas: A Massachusetts Tale2 reviews
Peter Arenstam

Mitten Press, 2007

Wonderful reading for children and adults!
This is a very well written children's book that also provides a wonderful introductory history of Massachusetts. My 4 year old daughter recieved this book as a Christmas present and she loves it. Reminds me of EB White's genre of stories, e.g., Trumpeter Swan. The animal characters really come to life and have great personality thanks to the author's writing. As a mom I have appreciated that ...

Historical fiction that will interest young and old alike
Middle readers and young adults boys who like adventure, a peek into the past-and good over evil, will especially like this work of historical fiction-and so will anyone who likes good storytelling about our country's past.
