Best book for learning Photoshop quickly!
I love this book!!! I wasn't familiar with Photoshop at all and didn't have time to read a bunch of tedious text to learn what I wanted to know and with this book I had so much fun that I ended up learning much, much more and the exercises in the book are so well explained with pictures and keyboard shortcuts that you quickly become a real pro at making professional graphic designs and cool ...

The Best Flash Book To Date
What I believe we're witnessing here in Hillman Curtis is the creativity of the new age artist. This is the new Picasso or new Monet. Well, that's my opinion. :) What I enjoyed most about this book was not only the step-by-step "how-tos" but also the philosophies, the reasons behind placing an image here or making something move in this way as opposed to that. Hillman Curtis describes making ...

Unbeatable Photoshop theory
If you aspire to be a hardcore Photoshop user, this book is probably the one you want above all others. It's not a step-by-step tutorial, a mere reference book, or a book that leads you through the tools and various functions of the software. Instead it discusses the fundamental concepts you need to know to use Photoshop to its fullest. Some statements in the book are outdated, but ...

Excellent Book
This is an excellent book for both beginners and intermediate Flash designers. Joshua Davis did a great job of writing this. It is very easy to understand and follow (none of that jumbled jargon that you get lost in). The CD with demos and the website are wonderful. I keep this with me at work and loan it to friends and co-workers interested in learning more about Flash.
Everyware: The Dawning Age of Ubiquitous Computing (Voices That Matter)

Everyware is a possibility, but can we stand the reality?
The term everyware is defined as the ability to access significant computing power from any location, and does not necessarily mean that computer chips are embedded in everything. Hence the contraction from "everywhere software." While chips may not be embedded in everything, that scenario is certainly possible in the near future, as only two preconditions are necessary. *) Each tag must be ...

essential photoshop reference for the pro
for the accomplished photoshop user, this is one of the couple of books worth owning. As a graphic design lecturer of many years i am very familiar with the workings of the product, but i still find this and a couple of other similiar books more than earn their keep, for the fact that i can look up any forgotten setting or dialogue and quickly discover its secrets. best of all this book is the ...

Most excellent
A thorough, comprehensive and usable book for people trying to migrate from traditional media into the (sometimes) scary world of new media. Jeffrey Zeldman's unique voice permeates the entire book, holds your hand, and gently guides you through the ups & downs of working with the web. His examples are concise and to the point, his writing style (as always) humorous and friendly, and, most ...

Great book for the intermediate user.
This book upgraded my skill 10 fold. After reading this book my work was shockingly better and I also go back and use it as reference all the time. If you can name a function or tool in 3dsmax you will find a section on it in this book. I mean we are talking a book with 6 pages just for bevel. The organization of the chapters and tools is genius. This book will not tell you how to model, it ...

best version yet
I have purchased each version of this book and this is by far the best version yet. It was totally reorganized from the previous versions, and adds a great deal of new content covering the new features triggers, stored procedures etc. if you only buy one book on MySQL this is it.

Few chapters are good, few are not about ISAPI
I used chapters 9-11, they are very good and useful. I think there are few more interesting things. I do not know why authors put a lot of info about IDC, ASP and other junk in the book about ISAPI. Also, I'm not happy with Delphi framework chapters .
Java 2 Certification Training Guide

Okay but not great
This book is adequate as a supplement as you prepare for the exam , but it is not exceptional. There were a couple questionable topics, in particular, be cautious of the explanation it gives of polymorphism. The coverage of the Developer exam is very brief, but if you are buying the book only to pass the programmer exam, you should probably do fine. Personally, I found The Complete Java 2 ...

If you have a basic understanding, this book is AWESOME!
Well, Boss Hog may get confused easily, but don't let him shy you away from an excellent text. I still recommend this book to people learning Max 3. The tutorials in the first several chapters are very intelligently written, and attempt to tackle very complicated concepts in a very concise manner. The text has helped me master more advanced concepts and tools of both Max the program and ...

This is how-to actually implement TCP/IP and services - and calm, step-by-step instructions on debug and troubleshooting specific network problems, which in themselves are invaluable. Excelent book!

Best for Practicing Professionals
This book is written for professionals who are practicing intrusion detection. If you need a graduate level presentation that contains theory and references, then see Intrusion Detection (MTP) and Intrusion Detection: An Introduction to Internet Surveillance, Correlation, Trace Back, Traps, and Response, but you will still need this book to see how intrusion detection is actually done.

Excellent!
This book is a complete joy to read. The author explains things in plain, easy to understand terms, and when i'm done reading a chapter, i fully retain everything i've read. He covers just about every aspect of character animation, which no other book does as well. It's full of color photos that explain his techniques, which are invaluable. I am never left confused. Although the book uses ...

A fantastic reference book to DOS 6.22!!
This book, in my humble opinion, is perhaps the best guide out there for anyone who wishes (or needs) to learn more about DOS version 6.2 (and 6.22). Although not geared towards the first-time user, the book nonetheless does not swamp the reader with much technical jargon, as do many others of this type. Well done!!

What impressed me most about this book when I picked it up was the display of sample Web pages on the front and back covers, on the fold-out at the back of the book, and on many of its pages.
