A spin off series even better than the original!
So, I really enjoyed the author's Cassandra Palmer Series. This book is set in the same world but stars a different protagonist, much as Armstrong's Women of the Otherworld series has multiple heroines. [[ASIN:0452286034 Bitten (Women of the Otherworld, Book 1)] Happily, Dorina Basarab is an outstanding butt-kicking supernatural antiheroine. The 500-hundred year old daughter of Dracula's brother, ...

Five golden stars for an almost perfect romance.
What a great time for romance readers, what with Laura Kinsale, Madeline Hunter and now Connie Brockway releasing romances within a week or so of each other. Ms Brockway's previous release, SO ENCHANTING, wasn't quite my cup of tea because of the paranormal elements involved, but this new one is very good. Here we have our extremely beautiful and wealthy heroine, Lydia, whose lavish lifestyle is ...

Great series but not worth it for a 2 year wait between novels
I love this series! It is my second favorite series of all time, and I read tons of books. That said.... WARNING DO NOT BOTHER TO READ CASSANDRA PALMER SERIES IF YOU THINK 2 YEARS IS TOO LONG OF A WAIT BETWEEN NOVELS... Just saw on this website that book #5 of the Cassandra Palmer series is not coming out until Summer 2011. That is OVER TWO YEARS from the 4th to the 5th novel. That is ...

If you liked the first book you will LOVE this one!!
I liked the first book in this series allot. I like Karen Chance's style or writing and the way she weaves a story. This book, in my opinion, outdid the first. There is romance and a sad story behind Dory, but not so that is makes the book mushy. I find some books in this genere get to wishy, washy, not so in this book. I am going to be waiting for book 3 (I hope there will be one!!!) with much ...

Great!
I thought this was a great book, the second, in a series of three so far. I was looking for something that would keep my attention but wasn't too intense, though I have to admit, I got hooked and they got a little more intense then I had aniticpated. Great book by an author I had never heard of, looking forward to his next book this summer.

A Very Pleasant Surprise
When I started reading this book, I was not sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised. The author made the characters three dimensional. The plot action was very good -- it kept me eager to continue reading to find out what happened next. I will definitely look for this author's next work.

A Great Debut
I really really enjoyed this book. First of all, I really liked the way the author went between first and third person. It was a great way to move the book along. I liked that you felt a kind of connection to the character when he was front and center and then the watching view when it was the other characters. Kind of like real life, you know what is going on in your head, you are only watching ...

A Terrific Thriller and Psychological Study
Freelance assassin, John Rain, has been hired to kill Manny Lavi, a fairly well-protected and cautious family man whose nefarious business dealings are causing problems for the Mossad. But Rain's new partner and expert sniper, Dox, is going to help pull this off, which may or may not be a good thing. Rain's used to working alone and Dox's loud, laid-back personality isn't Rain's idea of a perfect ...

Consistently great
Havoc is yet another great du Brul book. I discovered him when I read his first "Cussler" book on the Oregon Files and decided to try one of his solo efforts. Sometimes the plot elements can be a little far-fetched, but heck, this is beach reading for real men.... I actually identify with Philip Mercer surprisingly well. I happened to go to Penn State and my training was as a mining ...

Michelangelo's Notebook
How often do you read negative reviews of a movie, BUT go see it anyway, and LOVE it?! Well, I read the negative reviews on this site, then read the book anyway and, you guessed it--I LOVED it!!! While not always convincing, neither was it "over the top"--You feel things COULD have happened as described!! (After all, it is FICTION, and, for those who care, it had only two brief sex scenes!!) ...

great summer read!
For fans of Dan Brown-esque fare -- this suits the bill AND has a female protagonist! This is part of a series so it's helpful (but NOT completely necessary) if you've read Michaelangelo's Ghost first. Still, great beach read -- fast paced, page turner that will pass the time quickly (don't forget to turn over!) Enjoy!
