Children's Parties1 review
Jane Asher

Pelham Books, 1988

Beautiful pics, lovely ideas
This is a lovely book and party planner for children's parties. Each chapter dedicated to the child's age from 1-12 Asher has great ideas for games, recipes, cakes and even kid's input. Some might find the book and ideas a bit conservatevely "English" but overall a great book!

The Dog's Mind (Pelham Dogs)1 review
Bruce Fogle

Pelham Books, 1992

Quite simply "Excellent"
This book is one of the most comprehensive books I have read encompassing how the Dog's Mind works. It is extremely well written and leaves you with a greater understanding on how to interpret your dog's body language. As a student of Canine Behaviour, I have found this book an invaluable reference tool

BE FIT ! OR BE DAMNED !1 review
CERUTTY PERCY

PELham Books, 1968

Sobering Title - Good Info
Percy is right on in this book - all before the modern health clubs took off. He walks the walk. It would be great if it could come back out for general circulation. Percy was the trainer of, I believe, Herb Elliott who held the world's 1500 meter record during the 50's - 60's, and this is a great guide one's maintaining a healthy body, mind, and spirit as one ages - running, general exercises, ...

The Jim Ryun story2 reviews
Cordner Nelson

Pelham Books ;, 1968

A book that every runner and coach should read!
I first read The Jim Ryun story when I was a freshman in high school in 1978. Jim Ryun the was the first high school runner to break 4 minutes in the mile. When he was 19 he set the World Record, running a 3:51.3 mile in 1966. This book inspired me to work harder in my cross country and track work outs. I ran cross country and track at Fort Hays State University in Jim Ryun's native state of ...

All About the St. Bernard (All About)2 reviews
Richard Beaver, Rachel Beaver

Pelham Books, 1988

The complete book of the St. Bernard
This is exactly the book I was looking for as someone with a brand new St. Bernard puppy. The history helps to know how the St. Bernard developed its temperment and size. The care and training sections are excellent, giving everything from diet suggestions to tips and cautions in training, housing, and playing with your puppy. Although I will probably never have a show dog, I also ...

The Boat Repair Manual (Pelham Practical Sports)1 review
George Buchanan

Outstanding reference source
I'm a professional boatbuilder in Port Townsend ,WA. While there are dozens if not hundreds of boat repair and building books out there, few are as user friendly to the uninitiated as this book is.If you are contemplating purchasing this book to perform maintenance or repair on a wooden boat, buy it! Along with "The Arts of the Sailor" and " The Marlinspike Sailor", this volume belongs on any ...

A Dyer's Manual, First Edition1 review
Jill Goodwin

Pelham Books, 1982

Get the 2003 second edition!
The new 2003 second edition is much superior to the earlier first edition, significantly expanded and complete with much essential safety information. The earlier edition was worth no more than four stars; the new edition is much improved. This may be the best book available anywhere on the subject of natural dyeing. Avoid earlier printings from the 1980s and 1990s, however.

Up, up and away: The biography of Be Fair1 review
Lucinda Prior-Palmer

Pelham Books, 1978

If you love great horses & great horsewomen...
If you appreciate horses, a horse's personality, and talented horsemanship, then this book is a must read. I first learned of Be Fair & Lucinda Prior-Palmer as an 8 year old girl and I thought they were special. Now at age 37, after reading this book, I realize I wasn't even close to knowing just how special this horse and rider team truly was. This book will have you laughing out loud at Be ...

Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding (Pelham Practical Sports)25 reviews

Pelham Books, 1987

#1 BBS Manual: "Training to Failure" - D.I.Y Hercules for Everybody
*Note* There is a revised edition of this book. The Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding is the largest tome of bodybuilding information found in any publication, finishing up at around 800 pages with approximately 1000 pictures and weighing in at a whopping 5.8lbs, making it the only book that gives you a workout while reading it. Arnold divides his massive manuscript into a number of ...

Stretching (Pelham Practical Sports)102 reviews
Bob Anderson

Pelham Books, 1987

A beautiful odyssey, brilliantly told
Whether you start with the Book of Genesis or the Adventures of Robinson Crusoe, we humans have long loved tales about creating a new world--or building one from scratch. Lloyd Kahn's new book, Builders of the Pacific Coast, is primarily an account of builders and hand-crafted structures dating from the 60s to the 80s. Yet the rugged coastal setting of his odyssey--a blue and green world from ...

My God1 review
Hayley Mills, Marcus Maclaine

Pelham Books, 1988

MUST HAVE BOOK FOR HAYLEY MILLS FANS
As far as I know this is the only book that Hayley has helped to compile. She thought it would be very interesting to ask many people from various cultures their views on God and the Life Hereafter. There has probably never been a better time to understand each other's religious beliefs.

Mark Kostabi: Upheaval1 review
Mark Kostabi

Pelham Books, 2000

An Artists' Scathing Indictment of Modern Society
From Introduction by Walter Robinson - "Mark Kostabi and the Blood of God and a Carrot on a Stick" "Mark Kostabi's paintings picture the realm of everyday life under late capitalism, a world of faceless creatures performing generic acts that come from hearts and minds of transcendent individuality and unavoidable conventionality. In a world replete with empty freedom, meaningless choices, ...

Manual for Life
This is an excellent book for newcomers and experienced motorcyclists alike. It is very dated now but it explains in detail the mechanical components of a motorbike and has a VERY helpful flow chart for when things go wrong. I regularly re read this book as a reference when working with motorcycles. It will last a lifetime. It covers everything you need to know from what to wear for different ...

Viv Richards, the authorised biography1 review
Trevor McDonald

Pelham Books, 1984

Great read for fans of the Master Blaster
I really enjoyed this book. I was a huge fan of Vivian Richards when he was playing and this book contains many wonderful stories of how he got to where he was and of his time during and after his playing career. Some his antics with Ian Botham had me in stitches.
