The Burden is Light!: The Autobiography of a Transformed Pagan Who Took God at His Word 3 reviews Eugenia Price
Pillar Books, 1975
life-changing The reality of what a carnal Christian I have been was made clear to me after reading this book. The solutions offered according to God's Word were brought home to me in such a delightful way and is helping to bring about change in my day-to-day life. It seemed I could not grasp the reality of the truth that when I became a Christian-(born again), Christ really did come to live in me and I ...

His eye is on the sparrow: An autobiography 10 reviews Ethel Waters
Pillar Books, 1975
His Eye Was on Ethel/Ethel's Eye on Him I've had the hardback 1951 copy of this book for some time, just picked it up to read last week. It is an astounding story of faith, determination, and strength; It is also an excellent insight into Black History pre-Martin Luther King. I hope the paperback version of this is being read. (and I wish Nikki Giovanni would read it as well).
Highly recommended.

God is no fool 23 reviews Lois A Cheney
Pillar Books, 1977
Thank you so much for reprinting this gem!! I have loved this book since I read it in college almost 30 years ago and, unfortunately, lost my copy. The popularity of this beautiful set of essay-like prayers is evident by how rare and expensive used copies of this book were. Reprinting this wonderful book was a answer to my specific prayer and I am buying copies to give as gifts. Favorites are Bits and Pieces, and Thank God as well as so ...

Tramp For The Lord 23 reviews
Pillar Books, 1976
Great Classic, Old Friend Many people have read or heard stories from The Hiding Place (Hendrickson Classic Biographies), by Corrie Ten Boom. Fewer have read the author's sequel, entitled Tramp for the Lord. I consider it one of the best books I've ever read. My wife and I have discussed parts of it on many occasions, and it sits on a shelf with just a few other books that we consider truly classic--books that we keep ...

Diary after death 4 reviews Franklin Loehr
Pillar Books, 1976
very comforting when I was faced with my mothers death. My cousin gave me a copy of this book to read when my mother was very ill and dying of breast cancer. It was a book that should be shared with people who are going through a terrible illness or have experienced a death of a loved one. I was comforted, reassured, reassured that I would once again meet with my mother, my friend, my confidant, to know that she hears me is a wonderful feeling.

Great book for the soul! During the struggles of life, this book can offer comfort. It makes one look at life with a different perspective. We sometimes should stop and thank God for what we have! I think this book makes you do that in a wonderful way, a way that fills your spirit!!!

Song of Abraham 6 reviews Ellen Gunderson Traylor
Pillar Books, 1975
Wish the Bible was this interesting! While not particularly religious, I have always had a curiosity of the Bible but have found it incredibly boring and hard to read. I've been told the stories Traylor writes closely match the Bible and after reading this book I can't wait to read more! Better than a Harlequin Romance - and more engaging and intellectual at the same time. I wish more history was taught this way. :)

Twelve angels from hell 1 review David R Wilkerson
Pillar Books, 1975
Awesome. Loved this book. It's 12 stories of teenagers and young adults clawing their way out of drug addiction. This author still runs Teen Challenge. Check out his web-site at: http://www.teenchallengeusa.com/
I wish he had 10 more books like this. I'd read them all.

A Prisoner and Yet... 1 review
Pillar Books, 1976
Inspiring Book about Corrie hiding Jews from the Nazis I read this book after I read "The Hiding Place" by Corrie Ten Boom, and it was again amazing, just like "The Hiding Place." It went into more detail about Corrie's plight with hiding Jews from the Nazis, and was just as enjoyable and provoking as her first book. I would highly recommend this book, and I have read all of her other books, I liked them so much!

The answer is God: The inspiring personal story of Dale Evans and Roy Rogers 1 review Elise Miller Davis
Pillar Books, 1975
Heartwarming early biography of Roy Rogers and Dale Evans This is a fine early biography of Western stars Roy Rogers and Dale Evans. It describes each one's personal and professional struggles, (Roy as a cowboy actor of growing popularity who maintains a close family life; Dale as a divorced teenage single mom who rises through the show business ranks as a singer and actress). Once they appear together in the movie, "The Cowboy and the Senorita", Roy ...

Dearest Debbie 1 review Dale Evans Rogers
Pillar Books, 1976
Dearest Debbie - A sad book from a woman with great hope. I read this book as a teenager. When Dale Evans died recently, it reminded me of this book, and another that she wrote, Angel Unaware (about her handicapped daughter Robin). These books, although both so very sad, show the tremendous faith that Ms. Evans and Mr. Roy Rogers shared through their trying family life. They suffered the heartache of losing three of their children at early ages (2, ...

Tell me again, I'm listening 1 review Richard B Wilke
Pillar Books, 1977
WONDERFUL to open up lines of communication in marriage Even though there are other books that deal with communication in Marriage. This book gives all the right tools to deal with something that is so valuable as communication. We must keep the lines of communication open and we must set time aside to talk with our spouse. The best way to do this is to say back what we heard our spouse say to us. If we can get back in the habit of doing this there ...
