First We'll Kill My Husband (Pinnacle True Crime)1 review
Lyn Riddle

Pinnacle, 2008

Still have some questions but good read!
The story of Kelly Brookshire, the only woman on Georgia's death row, is a sad case of neglect but no excuse for her involvement in the planning and execution of her husband Doug Jr. by persuading her longtime boyfriend Greg Owen to take the blame. In this case, I believe Kelly was abusive enough as a spouse towards Doug. She had sons, Brandon, and Jonathon also known as Cody, with two other men ...

Because You Loved Me (Pinnacle True Crime)11 reviews
M. William Phelps

Pinnacle, 2007

The drama queen and the sociopath
Because You Loved Me is a case study of different sorts of love, platonic, parental, romantic, and obsessive. It's easy to predict which type will go wrong. The High Queen of the drama queens, Nicole, falls in a twisted sort of love with macho manipulator Billy, and in a metter of days, she is blind to all the good things in her life. Her mom, her friends, her education, her home - Nicole no ...

Fire In The Ashes7 reviews
William W. Johnstone

Pinnacle, 1996

Johnstone keeps the action going!
Fire in the Ashes is the perfect continuation of the "Ashes" series. Bill takes the reader onward from where "Out of the Ashes" left off, and provides a lot of flashback so that even the reader who starts with this one can understand the storyline. The flashback sequences are terrifically done and masterfully crafted. Ben Raines dogged determination to pull America up from destruction is ...

Pure Murder (Pinnacle True Crime)14 reviews

Six Thugs Acting Like Wild Dogs Rape & Murder Two Young Girls
For many years now, I've been a fan of the true crime genre; reading nothing but these nonfiction tales of the worst side of mankind. After a while, while still interested in the crimes, the forensics, and the inner workings of the justice system, a reader can easily reach a point where the crime in and of itself has no shock value. That was not the case in my most recently read book: Pure ...

Dead Man's Song28 reviews
Jonathan Maberry

Pinnacle Books, 2007

Keep 'em coming, Jonathan...
Let me get one thing straight first. One reader of the first book in the Pine Deep trilogy fired some idiotic salvo accusing Maberry of paying people $500 to write favorable reviews. A couple of others picked up that ludicrous refrain for this book. Now, in a world full of intelligent readers there would be no need to respond to such blithering numbskulls. I'm sure Maberry himself feels no need ...

I AM OVER HALFWAY THROUGH THE BOOK AND THE MORE I READ THE BETTER IT GETS. THIS BOOK IS SO HARD TO PUT DOWN. MR. PHELPS DOES IT AGAIN!

Bad Moon Rising10 reviews
Jonathan Maberry

Pinnacle, 2008

Best Yet
Mayberry's best yet. All of the tension and excitement of the first two in this series come together in this one. If you can believe it, he creates even more in final book of the trilogy. The book stands on its own, however. So if you have only one great horror book to read this summer this is the one!

Danger In The Ashes (Pinnacle Books Fiction)2 reviews
William W. Johnstone

Pinnacle, 1998

Another winner!!!
Once again, William Johnstone has shown that he can turn the tide of this series so as to not make it boring for anyone. In keeping with the times, everyone else has raised their heads in defiance to the rebels, why not the ...? Raines and his people are pitted against the remnants of Khamsin's "Holy" forces, and the new .... Along with everyone else who is out to stop him. However, Raines ...

Dead And Buried: A Shocking Account of Rape, Torture, and Murder on the California Coast41 reviews
Corey Mitchell

Pinnacle, 2003

Very eye opening
Yet another hit from Corey Mitchell! The way he starts out with some of the attacks and then starts from the beginning of where everyone involved came from etc. was awesome. I again love the way he ties in other cases where applicable that people might recall. I was especially touched by the story of his deceased wife at the beginning. I had read books done after this and seen the reference to ...

Out of the Ashes (Ashes Series #1)45 reviews
William W. Johnstone

Pinnacle, 2008

A Woman's Point of View...
I'm usually a romance book reader, but I was curious & read the back cover & decided to give it a try, something different... I found the storyline & the dialogue to be very easy-to-read & the story rolled as if written by a 'real' person (if a bit preachy, but the guy sure knows what he believes in!). It's a great 'what-if' story of the ever-popular 'end of the world as we know it by nuclear ...

Don't Ever Tell8 reviews
Brandon Massey

Pinnacle, 2008

Brandon Massey gets everything just right in DON'T EVER TELL
Brandon Massey has been laboring quietly for the past decade or so in the supernatural and horror literary genres --- working in what author Marcus Wynne so aptly describes as the grammar mine --- without gaining the recognition that is arguably his due. DON'T EVER TELL --- touted as his breakout novel --- has everything you could reasonably expect in a thriller. It begins with a particularly ...

Trapped in the Ashes (Ashes #10)2 reviews
William W. Johnstone

Pinnacle, 1998

New York, New York, the city so nice they destroyed it twice
Ben and his rebels are trapped in New York. Khamsin has arrived, along with Sister Voleta, to see to it that Ben Raines breathes no more. With the night People and the other two seemingly having Ben and his people trapped, ben makes a decision that will weigh upon his mind forever - do they lie down and die, or do they do the unthinkable and destroy the great city of New York? A brilliant ...

Death In The Ashes (Ashes Series)1 review
William W. Johnstone

Pinnacle, 1998

A TRUE 5 STAR!!!!
It only rated three stars due to being a reprint of an earlier publication. I was awaiting the futher adventures ( I've read the entire series) of the Rebels and unfortunately found a re-run under a different cover. Still it was exciting to read again and I still wait, although now somewhat impatiently!

Survival In The Ashes (Ashes Series)1 review
William W. Johnstone

Pinnacle, 1999

OH YEAH
This book is great. I loved every second of it and I believe you shall too. This book pins Ben Raines against Sister Voleta once again and who knows who the champion shall be. It is a good book dealing with lots of violence but that is a part of what makes it so great. Give 'er a try what do you have to lose.

Dead City61 reviews
Joe McKinney

Pinnacle, 2006

Texas? Toast. San Antonio overrun by the living dead.
This book was very well written. I am an avid reader of the Zombie genre and Joe McKinney is great. I await his next book. If you are a fan of the Zombie Genre do not hesitate to pick up Dead City you will not be disappointed. The story revolves around San Antonio Texas and a good police officer Eddie Hudson. There have been five hurricanes in three weeks. Needless to say it is a perfect ...
