Funnier now as a parent
This book was comical when I was a child and now that I am a parent, its hilarious. My daughter gets a kick out of Sam-I-am and I'm amused about the fact that she and Sam are nearly one in the same.

Fabulous books!
All of the Magic Tree House books have excellent story lines that keep the children engaged and they also learn real facts. It is hard to find books that are not overly violent or mature in content these days. These books do a good job at keeping the content interesting and adventurous without going over the top. My daughter started reading them in late first grade, and has re-read several of ...

Love, love, love it!
Who can honestly say they don't like Dr. Seuss?? (Okay - maybe a few can...). But, every kid I have ever known, big or small, loves this book ~ and I am one of them. It's fun, colorful, goofy and can be read over and over again without getting stale.

Great read for second grader!
My son is in second grade but reads at a 4.1 level so I got these for him in hopes that it would spur him into a desire to read for fun...boy it worked! He read them all in 2 days and asked for more. Great content and easy flow with good plots twists and character carry-over.

The Magical World of Dr. Seuss
I learned to read with the dull and predictable Dick, Jane and Sally books. And Spot. I mustn't forget Spot. Then one day I got my hands on The Cat in the Hat and reading changed for me forever. It became fun, lively and whimsical. In short, magical. And that's how it's been for me ever since. I couldn't read enough Dr. Seuss as a kid, and as a parent, of course I shared all his books with my own ...

Our toddler's favorite!
This is a great book -- a favorite of our 15-month-old. She's had us read it so much that we both have it memorized. If she gets fussy or bored in the car, I just start reciting this book and she calms down. It's durable for little hands and small enough to stuff in the diaper bag and take to Grandma's.

Cute board book!
I loved Richard Scarry books as a child and I was so excited to get this board book for my nine-month-old son. The illustrations are so cute of the various cars, trucks, and vehicles, and of the Richard Scarry animals driving them. The book is a nice short length so it maintains my son's interest when I read it to him. This is a great board book for babies and I highly recommend it!

I know this book by heart now.
If it drives you crazy to read the same book over and over again, don't buy this one. It is almost an addiction for my four-year-old son who loves to find out how things work. This is the perfect book for such curious munchkins and, if you don't watch out, you might learn a thing or two yourself! I'd buy this again in a heartbeat.

Cutest. Book. EVER.
What you have to do is read it out loud the right way to build up the suspense and whatnot. SUPER CUTE!!! We got this book because it was a favorite of my husband's when he was little. I had never heard of it before. OMG so cute! Why had I never heard of this when I was little? Our toddler loves this book and wants us to read it to her over and over and over again. I think it's a cute ...

Great Choice!
This book was perfect for my two year old grandson. He loves the Mercer Mayer books already, and was familiar with the character. It explained in simple words some of the things, both positive and negative, about having a new baby in the house. I think this is a great choice for a young child!

A timeless masterpiece for children of all ages
Horton Hears a Who is a masterpiece. Often heralded as a book on friendship, it is much more than that. Theodor Seuss Geisel was an outspoken critic of Hitler and Mussolini, and Horton Hears a Who has been said to have been Geisel's call to support the fledgling democracy in Japan after World War II. But Horton is much more than that. Horton Hears a Who is a reminder of the importance of ...

It worked!
When my 4-year old daughter started lying constantly we tried everything - lectures, books from the library about lying, loss of privileges, etc. When I found this book and read it to her, it was like a light bulb went off in her head. She finally understood and the lying stopped almost overnight. I'd recommend this book to any parent having trouble with a young child telling lies.

A powerful story about competing interests, for children and adults...
In 1981's, a forestry-dependent community in north-coastal California (Laytonville) proposed removing The Lorax from the required reading list for second graders. One comment was, "To teach our children that harvesting redwood trees is bad is not the education we need." The numerous lawsuits and objections regarding sustainable forestry practices were a bleeding wound to these communities. ...
