Great kids' adventure series
OK, I'm not reviewing this for myself, although I do enjoy the concept and the stories, but for my (nearly) six year old grandson. He simply adores this series by Mary Pope Osborne...except...at the start of each adventure, when the tree house moves and then stops...when it says..."then everything was still...absolutely still"...anyone remember Abbott and Costello's "slowly I turn, step by ...

Dr. Seuss

Random House Books for Young Readers, 1996

Love, love, love! A true classic!
The cute rhymes as you teach your child(ren) the alphabet, only as Dr. Seuss can do! Very entertaining to the child as they learn and for the person reading it to them. It's not too wordy. A must have!

Horton, My Hero
If you haven't seen "Suessical the Musical" by all means do so. This clever adaption of Suess books and characters is just wonderful. The Horton books are primarily the source of this children's musical. Horton again shows what a fine elephant he is by standing fast to his ideals. Children can learn a lot by reading this rhyming, entertaining book.

Dr. Seuss, Theodor Seuss Geisel

Random House Books for Young Readers, 1971

An important message
The Lorax is a wonderful commentary on environmental issues and an outstanding book by a very creative and ingenious author. It helps young children understand the importance of actively saving ones environment, while being entertaining at the same time. This is among the best of Dr. Seuss's works.

My daughter loved this book
I bought this book for my 2 year old daughter. She loved it from the first minute. She opens the doors over and over. And then she "reads" to me... It's a nice little book with lots of flaps. And it's just the right size for little hands. We'll buy this book for our little friends.

Mr. Brown Can Moo! Can You? (Bright and Early Books for Beginning Beginners)143 reviews
Dr. Seuss

Random House Books for Young Readers, 1970

a book that makes your children wanna READ !!!
Mr. Brown Can Moo! Can You? is going to be a lot of fun for your child to read--or to use as a tool for them as they learn to read. This is a great book for children learning to read independently; the illustrations are grand and the words are relatively simple. The book also teaches, in a fun way, some important words for child to increase their vocabulary at the same time. Great! The book ...

Random House Books for Young Readers, 1958

An excellent lesson in life
I recently read this book to my grandchildren. As I was reading it, I realized that the book described a situation that was occurring in my own career. The more I read, the bigger my smile became. I realized that I was Mack and my co-worker was Yertle. As I finished the book, I told my grandsons that this was by far and away my favorite Dr. Seuss book. They asked why and I told them that ...

Richard Scarry's What Do People Do All Day43 reviews
Richard Scarry

Random House Books for Young Readers, 1968

A GEM!!! MY ALL TIME FAVORITE CHILDREN'S BOOK (moooooore stars!!!!)
I got this one as a child, back in the sixties. My copy is in Dutch and although a little weathered it's not falling apart yet. The copy I'm reviewing here is a reprint that misses several spreads, but sad though it may be, if you don't know about it you won't miss it. Richard Scarry shows different "people" (animals in clothes), all kinds of professions, how they interact and how one depends ...
