Hilarious children's book
This is a great book for kids who are not sports-oriented. The jokes about jocks and athletes are very funny, and the descriptions of various sports induce both groans and laughs. The description of diving to the effect that divers try to do everything they can to avoid hitting the water and no one ever wins is but one humorous example.

A visual treat of the highest quality for kids of all ages.
This picture book may be the cleverest ever created. "Thirteen" is 13 stories told simultaneously on 13 pages, each story told by pictures which change and evolve as you turn the pages. Many of the stories are circular or contain hidden surprises. This is the book that I have given most often as a gift, not only to kids but also adults, who may enjoy it even more than kids!

God, I love unicorns SO MUCH

If you've read 'Never Tickle a Turtle' or 'Soup with Quackers', you know that Mike Thaler's doodling is the highlight of his books. Sadly, he didn't illustrate this, so it isn't really reccomended. If you're just looking for a book to read to your child, though, this is a good buy.
