Dragon Rider 228 reviews Cornelia Funke
Scholastic en Espanol, 2008
Great Imagery I have never been a reader of high fantasy. I listened to this book on tape. The acting and voices of Brendan Frazier were more entertaining than any movie.
I enjoyed the length of the story. It was just right.
The dragons are leaving their home after many years of safety. Man has come to their valley, and it is no longer safe.
Firedrake, the silver dragon, sets out to find the Rim of ...

Cuentos con sazon 4 reviews
Scholastic en Espanol, 2001
A Recipe for Success Salsa Stories is a fabulous combination of 2 parts story, 1 part pictures, and 1 part food. This friendly mélange makes for delectable reading when paired with the endearing stories in this collection. A very interesting aspect of the collection is that the stories follow the calendar, beginning with arroz con pollo on New Year's Day, and ending with coconut tembleque at Christmas. Likewise, ...

Very good book ! Good message to youth. This was simply a good read for youth or perhaps for anyone. The story sent out a message concerning discrimination, learning and coping with change, and growing and evolving into a stronger human being. Thumbs up !

Pedro's Journal (spanish) (Mariposa, Scholastic En Espanol) 6 reviews Pam Conrad
Scholastic en Espanol, 1994
Pedro's Journal for 5th grade Class Pedro's Journal was read by my 5th grade classes to learn more about Christopher Columbus and his journey. It was perfect for a class of mixed ability readers, it's history was well researched, and it engaged the students. We used it for a Literary Circle book. I highly recommend it for Social Studies, Language Arts, or an example of journal writing.

David en panales: Oh David! (Oh, David!) 30 reviews
Scholastic en Espanol, 2005
Holds attention of babies We started reading this book at 5 months. By 8 mos my son would point to familiar objects like the spoon with food on it. It is long enough to have substance, but short enough to hold the attention of the youngest reader. Minimal words, mostly drawn pictures. My son is a year now and still likes it; this one features common phrases like "Hold still," and "Go to sleep!"

Great This is an excellent addition to the very limited selection of Spanish language books for kids. Please publishers, make more good quality Spanish books for kids. Not even Spain publishes kids books (my sister went there and checked. Most are badly translated American books).
