Option Trading in Your Spare Time: A Guide to Financial Independence for Women 14 reviews Wendy Kirkland, Virginia McCullough
Sphinx Publishing, 2009
Really excellent book This book is really well written and organized. I was pretty much a novice in this area and this book gives you all you need to get started in specific areas of options. I bought another book that attempted to cover too much and was really confusing. This book takes on just enough of the subject matter to be meaningful, but not to much so as to confuse. I read the book twice and go back ...

Unhappy Lawyer 9 reviews
Sphinx Publishing, 2008
Encouraging and inspirational I have only just begun reading The Unhappy Lawyer, but right off the bat I could really relate. For the first time ever I knew that someone (actually, many others) knows exactly what I am going through. Not only is that reassuring, but also encouraging. There are a lot of career-change books out there, and while many concepts may be universal, leaving the law seems to have its own unique set ...

Law 101 5 reviews
Sphinx Publishing, 2009
Law 101: An Essential Reference for Your Everyday Legal Questions This is the BEST and most informative legal guide for the lay person I've come across and I reviewed many. It's the only reference of its kind that helped me every single step of the way from moving to sue for wrongful termination to realizing the perfect approach was to sue for intentional tort/battery as well as negligence. Brien Roche wrote a legal masterpiece in very friendly language and I ...

How To Buy Your First Home, Second Edition 4 reviews Diana Summers
Sphinx Publishing, 2005
Good first book on buying a home This is a basic book on home buying intended for the first time buyer. It's' fairly brief, only about 130 pages (minus the appendices), so it's a quick read. If you're a second time buyer it would probably be too basic for you, but I was looking for a quick primer before starting to read more technical books on investing in real estate.
It covers the essentials of mortgages, the bidding and ...

Fathers' Rights, 2E: The Best Interest of Your Child Includes You 9 reviews James Gross
Sphinx Publishing, 2006
Greatest Book Period I have to say it is an excellent book. I do not have any children, but a
lot of my friends do. Some are married and some aren't. I have convinced 4
of them to read the book and 3 out of the 4 finished. I learned so much
from this book. All my friends have said the same thing that I have after
reading the book. You are very clear expressing your point. That makes a world of difference in ...

Start Your Own Medical Practice: A Guide to All the Things They Don't Teach You in Medical School about ... 5 reviews Judge Huss, Marlene Coleman
Sphinx Publishing, 2006
Excellent book for the price AAFP sells a book called 'On your Own: Starting a Medical Practice from the Ground Up' for much more than this book. Get this one instead. It has more info and you cannot beat the price. This should be your first book to read in case you want to start on your own. It is not going to give you all the answers, but it is a good start. Happy reading!

Confessions of an Introvert: The Shy Girl's Guide to Career, Networking and Getting the Most Out of Life 26 reviews Meghan Wier
Sphinx Publishing, 2009
Great personal perspective and really useful tips I am in the center of the introvert/extrovert spectrum, but lean towards introvert. So there was much I could relate to in this book. Meg does a great job of mixing her own personal experiences to her message. She is very open in sharing her own successes and failures. Since I know Meg personally, I felt she was just as real in this book as she is in every-day life. There is a genuineness that ...

Fired, Laid Off or Forced Out: A Complete Guide to Severance, Benefits and Your Rights When You're Starting ... 8 reviews Richard Busse

Stand up for yourself. I was being subtley pushed out of a company for no good reasons except that I was not Big 10 slack jawed hick like the rest of the group. This book made me aware of my rights and how to subtley and diplomatically let the company know I was keeping track of their questionable actions and documenting all their clearly less favorable treatment of me as compared to the rest of similarly situated ...

The Social Security Benefits Handbook 10 reviews Stanley Tomkiel III
Sphinx Publishing, 2008
Good Reference on Basic Law and Procedures Tomkiel has written a good reference for non-lawyers on the basics of Social Security law and how it is administered. It goes into some detail, so if you are looking for something light and breezy, it may be a bit much. But if you want to know what benefits are available, who is eligible for them, and how they are calculated, this book will fill the bill nicely.

I hope the college graduate I bought this book for, finds it helpful and useful.

How to Sell Your Home in Any Market: 6 Reasons Why Your Home Isn't Selling... and What You Can Do to Fix Them 21 reviews Loren Keim
Sphinx Publishing, 2008
The only book you'll need to sell your home What really sets Loren Keim's books apart from others I've read is his ability to communicate information in a both educational and fun way. He uses real world examples of what to do and what not to do and why, based on his experiences selling real estate in different marketplaces.
The book has checklists for each step of the process, and lays out how to stage a home (and why), how to select ...
