Cookie Craft: From Baking to Luster Dust, Designs and Techniques for Creative Cookie Occasions58 reviews
Valerie Peterson, Janice Fryer

Storey Publishing, LLC, 2007

Finally, a great modern cookie book.
As a pastry chef with my own bakery, I'd been trying different sugar cookie recipes for months and couldn't find one that created the kind of blank canvas I needed. Sure they were yummy, but the dough was too sticky and the end product too chewy and crackled to decorate. The recipes in this book create beautiful blank canvases every time -- sharp corners and points stay sharp in the oven, and ...

Let It Rot (A Garden Way publishing book)28 reviews
Stu Campbell

Storey Publishing, 1983

all you really need to know about composting is in this book
I just built my first compost bins and I refer to this book often. I built it out of pallets as I didn't want to invest any money at this time and then find out later I wasn't going to like it. It is working out great. I already have decomposing going on and the worms have moved in! (which is good!) It has only been about 2-3 weeks and I was surpised and happy to see some progress happening.

The Vegetable Gardener's Bible (10th Anniversary Edition)104 reviews

Storey Publishing, LLC, 2009

Inspiring and helpful, good details
This is a good book. I like how specific and detailed the information is -- that is what I was looking for. I have a feeling I'll be referring to this book again and again. While I already knew about the advantages of raised beds and compost (who doesn't?), this book is organized well so that I can find specific info about each type of fruit/veggie I might plant. I also liked seeing how he ...

The Ever-Blooming Flower Garden: A Blueprint for Continuous Color16 reviews
Lee Schneller

Storey Publishing, LLC, 2009

My saving grace
As a new home owner and novice gardener, I was overwhelmed by my overgrown 1/3 acre yard. It has beautiful bones, but has not been well-tended in many, many years. I took out book after book from the library and felt nothing but frustration. Then I discovered this book. Since then, I have planted hundreds of new plants and torn apart the old weedy beds. Perhaps most exciting, the whole ...

A book with love and respect
My husband is the hand-on beekeeper, I am just the helper. Mr. Bonney's book is written with love and respect of his bees.
