An Engineer Reviews " The Female Cyclist"
One of the advantages of a Coach, who is educated as an Engineer, is their ability to bring science to the art of Coaching. This Gale Bernhardt has done, in "The Female Cyclist". By taking the Scientific Literature and distilling it into a readable text, Gale has written a body of work that will certainly stand the test of time among female cyclists. This book has been needed ever since parity ...

Another Great Read from G. Moody
Fans of Will Ross will not be disappointed with this much anticipated followup to Deadroll. My only problem is I read the book too fast. I guess I'll have to start over with book 1 and read the whole series. Long live Will Ross!

The Yoga Guide I've Been Looking For
As a busy professional, dedicated age group triathlete, and regular yoga class student, I've experienced both the physical and mental benefits of yoga in my racing and my life. However, I've really struggled to practice yoga at home - without a teacher telling when, where, and how. Sage Rountree's book is what I've been looking for: a practical, user-friendly guide that speaks my "athlete ...

Wild Side? Wild Man!
Words cannot capture the drama, the funniness, the insanity, the rambling rants, the verisimilitude of the live race descriptions, and that certain 'je-ne-sais-quoi' of Bob Roll's cycling book. It is a peculiar and interesting place, that region or landscape where the demented mind of Bob Roll inhabits and calls itself home. I am sure I don't want to live there, but a visit is well worth the ...

Not only great running tips, but excellent diet advice too
As a triathlete going on my 15th season, I have seen most of the stuff out there. This book is great in that it starts by teaching running technique, which most people ignore. Sure we all know technique is crucial in swimming, but it is in running as well. The author also has a video on his "Evolution" run technique which I have on order. He claims to have achieved significant efficiency and ...

Not A CYCLIST BUT INSPIRED
This book is a wonderful story that provides a positive message to children. If you try hard you can accomplish anything. The author applies some of her personal experiences that children can relate to in today's society. I hope to see more from this author. My neice loved it. I recommend this book for ages 5 and up.

A Beautiful Book about an Ugly Race
Greg Lemond famously said about cycling:" It doesn't get any easier. You just get faster." And for a sport that values the ability to suffer, the least easy of all races is Paris-Roubaix, variously feted as "the Queen of the Classics" and cursed as "the Hell of the North." In 2006, L'Équipe published a gorgeous history of the race and it is this book, in an excellent idiomatic English ...

I was hesitant to buy this wondering if I could really learn something about mental training from a book. I decided to give it a try and I am very glad I did. This is one of the best Ironman prep books I've read. I highly recommend it.

Maximum Performance by Michael Ross
Maximum performance by Michael Ross is one of the best books on the topic of sports medicine for endurance athletes, especially cyclists. Dr. Ross has a way of synthesizing the research into a practical format which non-medical ...

More than just a race.
At first glance this is just a book on a race, a bicycle race at that, not something typically near to American's hearts. But this was the 2004 race when something happened. And that something was Lance Armstrong, a Texan, a cancer survivor, and already five time winner of the race going for an unprecedented sixth victory. Of course you know that he won, just look at the title of the book. ...
