The Tenth Circle: A Novel214 reviews
Jodi Picoult

Washington Square Press, 2006

Book that got me started on Jodi Picoult
I really liked this book. I had never read any of Jodi's previous books and I really liked the flow of the book. Once I was finished with the book I knew that this book would be the first of many Picoult books I will read in the future. I think that the author truly has a gift that lets the reader become captured within her books. I would recommend this book to my friends.

Plain Truth by Jodi Picoult
This is the first book that I have read by Jodi Picoult and it certainly won't be my last. I cannot put this book down. It is an extremely well written story set in Lancaster, PA. She paints a beautiful picture of the Amish lifestyle. I would highly recommend this book!

This will definitely go down as my favorite book of all time. Finally an author with some sense of what real women go through. I am reading Goodnight Nobody now and I can already tell you it's going to be just as good. As an overweight girl myself, I could relate to this so much. However, this book isn't just for the overweight girls. I would let ANYONE read this.

I could not put it down
I am an avid reader. I was not prepared to love this book but from the first chapter I was hooked. I did not put it down until I was done. The plot and characters were brilliant. I can't wait for the next book from this author.

Nineteen Minutes380 reviews
Jodi Picoult

Washington Square Press, 2008

A realistic look at an increasing crisis.
Jodi Picoult has attacked a very painful and difficult subject, school shootings/bullying, in a very, non-hysterical, "everyday people" way. It is eye opening, un-sentimental and "can't-put-it-down" riviting.

My Sister's Keeper: A Novel949 reviews
Jodi Picoult

A Hit With Our Book Club
Our book club consists of women ages 26-60 and everyone enjoyed reading this novel. I believe there's something in it for everyone and really, Jodi Picoult does such an excellent job of expressing so many varied points of view. It can be emotional at times but none of it is forced the way other novels sometimes pull you into tear jerker moments. I very much recommend this book to anyone who ...

Hamlet (The New Folger Library Shakespeare)33 reviews
William Shakespeare

Washington Square Press, 2003

If you want to read Shakespeare its has to be The new folger Library
If you ever thought about reading Shakespeare but was turned off or intimidated by the old english, not so with the new folger editions. Your basically reading the play on all the right sided pages , with the left pages reserved for all the definitions and explanations of the sayings and words that might be dificult to understand. This makes it very easy and enjoyable to read.

Second Glance: A Novel78 reviews
Jodi Picoult

Washington Square Press, 2004

good book, but it could have been great
I love the story, characters and outcome of the book, but I was offended by the language and sexual situations. I would have highly recommended it for my book group if they had of been left out. I won't even mention it now, and if I see a book written by Jodi Piccoult, I pass it by. This is a shame because I think she's a very good writer.

The Book of Lost Things: A Novel101 reviews
John Connolly

Washington Square Press, 2007

Gripping fairy tale for adults
The Book of Lost Things starts out very similar to a lot of other classic fantasy tales. David in an ordinary boy who has a connection with another world, that he finally enters. This is a melding of some of the most beloved fairy tales, folk tales, and stories of our childhood. Part Narnia and part Never Ending Story, David's story is a much darker twist to a familiar tale. Childhood stories ...

Romeo and Juliet (Folger Shakespeare Library)24 reviews
William Shakespeare

Washington Square Press, 2004

Romeo & Juliet summary by fernando f.
Romeo and Juliet was an epic story the meaning of the story to me was two lovers with parents keeping them away from each other. I personally really liked the book because it tells people how you can't hide true love because then it would just make things worse for the both. What I don't like in the story how they have to argue over stupid reasons if there in love then there in love let it be ...

Perfect Match: A Novel87 reviews
Jodi Picoult

Washington Square Press, 2003

Best read book this year!
I found this book in the bookstore with a buy one, get one half off. After seeing that it was about child molestation, I was a bit hesitant to read it. I am glad I did! What an awesome story. Trying to stay up with the changes voices at new chapters was a bit tough, but the book was so well written that it overshadowed that minor flaw. As a mother, I felt total compassion for Nina. Who wouldnt ...

Loved This Book
This was such a great book! I took it with me on a trip and finished it before the plane landed. (it was a long trip) I couldn't put the book down because it was so good and kept me interested the entire time. I would suggest taking it with you for a light read!

Warriors Don't Cry: Searing Memoir of Battle to Integrate Little Rock122 reviews
Melba Pattillo Beals

Washington Square Press, 1995

Well-Written Must Read!
I read Warriors Don't Cry for school, and when I began reading it, I knew I would enjoy it. Yes, I enjoyed it, but it is actually very terrifying to read. Everything that Beals writes is based on fact, and it is very terrifying to imagine that this is what she and the other young black students faced when segregating into an all-white school. This is a must-read, and is a well-written, ...

Goodnight Nobody: A Novel193 reviews
Jennifer Weiner

Washington Square Press, 2006

Funny--worth reading!
Ok, maybe it's not the greatest mystery ever written, but "Goodnight Nobody" is hilarious, and gets so many things right -- especially the hierarchy (exactly like highschool) among mothers of toddlers -- it's well worth reading if you're a mom who needs a laugh.

Macbeth (Folger Shakespeare Library)15 reviews
William Shakespeare

Washington Square Press, 2003

Yale's may be the best edition of Macbeth
Virtually all editions of Macbeth will have at least some annotations. Rummaging through five different editions, I preferred the Yale University Press version, edited by Burton Raffel, as having the most comprehensive and comprehensible notes, as well as an excellent introduction to Shakespeare's play. Raffel not only explains the meanings of obscure words, but also gives brief notes pertaining ...
