Eclipse (The Twilight Saga, Book 3)852 reviews
Stephenie Meyer

Little, Brown Young Readers, 2007

Eclipse
I was so pleased with the book Eclipse. I became a Twilight Junkie after just two chapters of the first book. I finished it in two days while I was on vacation at the beach. So, as soon as I got back, I ordered New Moon and Eclipse. I bawled my eyes out while reading this one. I felt like I was involved completely in this book/in Bella Swan's life. Stephenie Meyer is a genius. GET BREAKING ...

Off Season8 reviews
Anne Rivers Siddons

Grand Central Publishing, 2008

I'm so glad I loved this book!
I have been reading Ms. Siddons book since her first one came out, many, many years ago. I have loved some, and just liked others, but I think she is a wonderful writer. Her descriptions say so much, in few words, I can see and feel what she is writing about. I loved these characters, flaws and all, and I enjoyed the little touch of mysticism she added through the book. I noticed in other ...

This book(I listened to the cd's.) is an amazing insight into the human brain, how it works, and explains so many misconceptions about thinking in regards to our present mindset about behavior. It explains each part of the brain and behaviors that are represented by each part in a way that is easy to understand and connect to. It also gives great detail and information on behaviors, why we use ...

Cesar's Way: The Natural, Everyday Guide to Understanding and Correcting Common Dog Problems665 reviews
Cesar Millan, Melissa Jo Peltier

Three Rivers Press, 2007

helpful tips
I purchased this product after viewing a collection of Cesar's dvd's. They don't provide "How to..." for training a dog to do "Things"(sit, down, etc.) but they are very insightful in understanding how to have a good relationship with your pet as dog and master. The book has helped us get off to a good start with our new puppy.

Loving What Is: Four Questions That Can Change Your Life165 reviews
Byron Katie, Stephen Mitchell

Three Rivers Press, 2003

Loving What Is...in this book! A Psychiatrist sings highest praise for The Work of Byron Katie.
As a Board Certified Psychiatrist who uses The Work Of Bryon Katie in my practice, I can say that after 23 years of learning and doing psychotherapy with people, I have found nothing faster or more powerful to recondition the mind/brain than The Work. It is deceptively simple and puts us face to face with our very identification with our story of a self. The Work stimulates growth like no other ...

The Boleyn Inheritance (Boleyn)156 reviews
Philippa Gregory

Touchstone Books, 2007

Trying times for women
This book definetly demonstrates the trials and tribulations that woman in medieval England had to face. This book basically picks up where The Other Boleyn Girl left off, with the exception of pretty much skipping Henry's marriage to Jane Seymour. My only complaint is that Philippa skipped that queen.. In beginning of this story, she has died in child birth. Anne of Cleves, I cannot say enough ...

The Handmaid's Tale: A Novel547 reviews
Margaret Atwood

Anchor, 1998

A timeless classic with a unique concept!
I'm fascinated by the reviews that indicate this book is now assigned in English Lit classes. That alone is testament for reading this book. I read it for the first time nearly twenty years ago. As an avid reader, and a re-reader - it stills stands out for it's unique concept and characters - regardless of your political beliefs (and given when it was written - I'd encourage even younger ...

Great book
I just think this is a great book. It really gives you a understanding of the "dances" your family goes through. I found myself saying.."wow, that is soooo us"...or "that is defiantly my daughter." My Boys Can Swim!: The Official Guy's Guide to Pregnancy162 reviews
Ian Davis

Three Rivers Press, 1999

Great read for first time fathers!
We are pregnant with our first child. I bought this book for my husband. He wants to be informed, wants to know what to expect, but does not want to be overwhelmed with each and every detail. He loved this book. Read it basically in a day. He said he would pass it on to any new fathers. It as small, simplistic and written from a guys perspective. Great!

World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War424 reviews
Max Brooks

Three Rivers Press, 2007

so THAT'S how it went down
because this book does such a good job of mimicking a work of oral history, it's easy to forget that this is actually a NOVEL, and as such is one of th most inventive, fun, compelling, and unconventional novels in a while. as someone who loves the zombies-destroy-civilization genre, i found this a really well-done look at how exactly human civilization crumbles (and, in this case, survives, ...
