Required reading for all patriotic Americans
I have to say I am troubled by the many reviewers who say they loved this book, except for the idea that America's actions could have possibly contributed to the hatred anyone feels toward us. To say there is a connection is not the same as saying we deserved it, and the author by no means makes any suggestion that 9/11 was something reasonable or deserved. To deny the connection is to go blind ...

I'm inspired
Well researched and considered. Thorough, yet practical and attainable. I appreciated learning about all the different types of root cellars and how to build them. Previous to reading this book, a root cellar to me was and expensive underground project with stairs and cement walls and electricity. Until I can afford that we can inexpensively create/build/dig the other options.

WOW!! Lets start gardening!!!
I bought both books. Roots,Shoots,Buckets & Boots, and Sunflower Houses. They are not the same! There are a couple of similar items, but both worth having and different. Sunflower houses shows how to make leaf hats and flower crowns, screechers, boats, pansy dolls, and much much more. The first book (roots, shoots,..) shows more creative gardening and hideouts and things like pizza patches ...

Great Vocabulary Workbook
My son, who is not really interested in Language Arts, but is good at it, got very interested in this book. He would ask to do vocabulary and more vocabulary. This book makes learning vocabulary fun even though it's through repetition. Each lesson contains many pages of the same words but in different ways and it gets kids into vocabulary and learning new words happily! I highly ...

Excellent!
Frank Viola and George Barna have given Christians worldwide a true gem of a book. Despite the misgivings that some may have based on the title or the subject matter, it is definitely worth diving into the content and giving it a chance. Far from writing a condemnation of the modern Christian church experience, the authors are instead taking a close look at the roots of several practices, ...

1.Text The Bible is very easy to read. The flow is so good that I often read several chapters in one go - something that does not occur when I read other versions. 2. Print & Binding Excellent. 3. Summary This is truly one of a kind. Gives this reader a completely new perspective of the faith.

Great intro to medical terms
I am working toward a Medical Coding certificate/degree, and this is the book we use in my Medical Terminology class. This book is well laid out, there are plenty of illustrations, it even comes with flash cards and an interactive computer cd to help you study. It makes it easy for a beginner to grasp the basic concepts of anatomy, diseases, procedures, and their commonly used abbreviations. ...

Convenience and Saving Money
Having a root cellar in your back yard is like having your own private supermarket of fresh fruits and vegetables. Any time you need potatoes for dinner or an apple for a snack, just open the door and walk inside. Anything you need is right there on the shelves. But a root cellar is more than a convenience. In addition to providing the security of having a year's supply of fruits and ...

Eye-Opening and Palate-Tickling
I think this book is fabulous. So cool that someone finally did a really nice book on this subject. The pictures are gorgeous and you can read it like a novel with all the little stories of different people and their backgrounds and recipes -- or you can get right into the pickling process and end up with stuff that you sort of never really thought you could make. I tried the mustard pickles and ...

Must-have for any personal library
As a researcher, I use this book often, even when I am discussing non-religious topics. Wilson offers insightful wisdom in many areas of social life. He offers not only historical perspectives on Christianity and its Jewish roots, but also on areas such as education, family life, language, and culture. This book is a must-have for any personal library. It remains academically enriching as ...

Grass Roots by Stuart Woods
Absolutely Woods' best book. This was his first novel and I think it is his best. I have enjoyed every one I have read of his, but this one was like living my childhood over again. I "know" many of the characters in this story. It is a very well written storyline and the characters are all exactly as I remember from the 50's and 60's. Great book and a great read!

McNeill outdoes himself.
Graham McNeill is what I'd call a good science fiction author, but he's definitely not my idea of a great one. Called upon to write the second back on the new HORUS HERESY series from the Black Library, McNeill had a tall order in following science fiction superstar Dan Abnett, and I was quite wary of there being a dropoff in the quality. I don't mean to bring up Abnett-McNeill comparisons, I ...

Wonderful book -- very highly recommend it
A fantastic resource for anyone who has an inclination to learn math with history of how it really developed. I truly felt sorry that I didn't have this book when I was learning Trignometry in high school -- would have used De Moivre's theorem to derive the interesting identities without having to resort to painful coordinate geometry proofs. ps: this book is not bedtime reading

Great for kids of all ages!
My kids have all loved this book from the age of 16 months. Most toddlers love to find the "banana" (or many other items on each page) when asked to find the banana. Every year they will find some new picture that they never noticed before. My five-year old is into "pirate", while my 18-month old loves the "hundred" stars. There is so much to look at on every page! I will give this book as a ...

Wonderful blending of science and history
_Saxons, Vikings, and Celts_ by Bryan Sykes is the author notes on page one the first book of its type, one on the genetic history of Britain and Ireland (which he refers to as the Isles throughout the book), using DNA as the main source of information. Having looked at much larger issues in the human past he wanted to "dissect the intimate genetic make-up of a smaller region," to look at the ...

I noticed some deterioration in my teeth last year, so I started searching online to find out whether anyone knew anything about healing teeth. I found Rami's website and decided to buy his book. A great basic word etymology for the non-linguist.
I stumbled upon this jewel at the local Rancho Bernardo library. My high school english teacher in India, Mr. F. X. Paul, owned a tattered copy and used to read to us aloud a page or two in his grammar class. It helped relieve our boredom brought upon by trying to memorize grammar rules and sentence parsing. Funk gives you a non-technical discourse on word etymologies. Grouped by ...
