When China Ruled the Seas: The Treasure Fleet of the Dragon Throne, 1405-143329 reviews
Louise Levathes

Oxford University Press, USA, 1997

Review: When China Ruled the Seas
The brutality of castration and the adventure of seafaring are vividly described in this history of the Ming Dynasty's seven epic commercial and military voyages of the early fifteenth century. Led by the eunoch Zheng He, the right-hand man of Yongle emperor Zhu Di, the voyages of the treasure ships established Chinese dominance at sea from Indonesia to the east coast of Africa and the Persian ...

Moleskine Ruled Notebook Large1 review

Moleskine, 2008

The Positive Talk is Right!
I've heard these books are wonderful. I take a lot of notes at my job. Having struggled with wire bound books (the bindings getting bent or snagging clothing) and being teased about being too old to use composition books, these notebooks are a joy to use. The attached ribbon bookmark and elastic band close have come in handy to use. The paper is smooth and a heavier weight than other ...

Moleskine Watercolor Notebook Large4 reviews
Moleskine

Moleskine, 2008

wonderful
As a former art teacher I highly recommend this notebook to anyone who takes the tools seriously. I got this notebook recently as a gift and don't know why in the world I've not run across this til now. I gave the paper a good workout and scrubbing with watercolor pencils, and it held up very well and warpage from water was minimal (is not a problem though because the hard cover irons it out). I ...

Moleskine Ruled Cahier Journal Kraft Large: set of 3 Ruled Journals2 reviews
Moleskine

Moleskine, 2008

Good alternative...
These are a good alternative to use, if you are "saving" your hardcover, Italian made ones for a better purpose... I recommend the cahiers. If you are like me, you have a stash of pocket and mid-sized hardcover ones made in Italy from before Modo Modo started making them in China... I don't feel bad about scribbling nonsense on these, although I suppose I do the same with the "good" ones....

Rulers and Ruled in the US Empire: Bankers, Zionists and Militants1 review
James Petras

Clarity Press, 2007

Good Academic Analysis and Thought Provoking
This is the second book that I have read by James Petras- the first was 'The Power of Israel in the United States'. I enjoyed his first book as well as this one. He is quite an academic virtuoso providing a sociological, historical, organizational, and political perspective as to whom controls the world and its money, resources, and, of course, politicians. Mainly, he points the finger at MNC's ...

i owe so much to this book.
After stumbling upon this book in a tiny country bookshop, i read it in just a few days and fell deeply in love with pugs. i was completely charmed my the author's dogs, especially Clara, and soon i had rescued my own little black pug from a shelter.
