Legacy of the Force: Sacrifice
Next to Inferno (Star Wars: Legacy of the Force, Book 6)this has to be my favourite book in the Legacy of the Force series. How do I begin to review this book? Well, it opens with Ben returning from a mission that Jacen deceived him to go on. This is the beginning of the end for Jacen's tyranny over Ben. I noticed that Ben isn't quite as devoted to Jacen in this book as he was in the earlier ...

Sad tale of a Mother who Murdered
This is a riveting and spellbinding book about a woman who let her sick obsessions overrule her heart and her love for her children. It is a story about selfishness and desire. It is about how children become pawns in a world of lust and greed and how they paid the ultimate price. Thankfully, the perpetrator did not evade the justice that will be dealt her here on earth. It made me sad for ...

Wonderful-gut!
Again, Beverly Lewis has captured our hearts with her wonderful-gut stories. This series takes us through the family's blessed times and their heartaches over a period of seventeen or so years. The other viewers have already set the plot in motion, so I'll just say you'll fall in love with and will treasure this Amish family in your heart. It's hard to say good-bye but you'll be glad you ...

Heart Wrenching
Carol's book is heart wrenching. We have only one child also, and we have had to "lay our Isaac down" and trust that God will take care of our son. Reading Carol's book made me realize that I am powerless over some circumstances, but God is still in control. I have a feeling though, that this book would not be understood by those who are not Christian. The idea of trusting a God who would ...

The perfect Christmas present
This book is unique. No Medal of Honor recipient has ever written a book that is both powerful and hilarious at the same time. For five years I have been recommending Medal of Honor by Peter Collier as the ideal Christmas present for veterans, young people and students of history. I must add the Jack Jacobs book to my short Christmas list. With not a word of profanity, this book is a great read ...

That their deeds not be forgotten.
Very moving story! I am glad that Mr. MacPherson did not give up and saw this book through to its conclusion. This is a story is taken from multiple viewpoints to form a more complete understanding of what happened atop Takur Ghar. As this story unfolds you are able to see in your mind everything that happens. Also interesting is the benefits and ills of modern technology and how it affects ...

The Continuation Of The Spider Queen Series
At this moment I am only half way through reading this book. I am an avid drow fan; I love everything drow!!! The series that preludes this book is War Of The Spider Queen. War Of The Spider Queen was notorious for having been writen by multiple authors who seemed to divert the character's personalities/ambitions with each new book. It was one of the most depressing books ever written, but ...

Engaging and powerful
Although a fairly quick read, The Sacrifice is a nice addition to the wide variety of Salem witch trial stories out there. The Sacrifice follows the Faulkner family, in particular 10-year-old Abigail, as the witch hysteria hits their town of Andover. While you can guess at what will happen (it is a Salem witch trial story, after all), the author does a great job at portraying Abigail's ...

Beautiful Book
I am in the process of being initiated in the Lukumi religion. I wanted this book very badly because all I have heard is wonderful things about it. After I purchased it, I began to read. The writing was absolutely hypnotic! I could not put it down. I would read it on my break at work, and would get upset when my break was over because I just wanted to read more. It reads like awesome short ...

Excellent character driven epic
Brother Nikos leader of The Learned Brethren arranged for a spell to transfer dying monk Josan's soul into the body of the heir apparent to the Ikarian Empire Prince Lucius. The spell failed when a decade after it was cast, the soul of Lucius returned to his body. Both inhabit the body of the Lucius body and they are both now the emperor. Josan and Lucius may share a body, but they are ...

Extremely Good!!!
This comic- excuse me, 'graphic novel' is part of one of my favorite series. The artwork is OK, but some of the characters look a little odd at certain angles. However, the slight flaws in the art disappear form your mind as you get wrapped up in the plot and the new characters- Durge (he's really cool, even though he's really evil) and Asajj Ventress (who isn't technically new because she ...

A BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT HAPPENED
A clear, understandable recital of the facts. Well documented. One of the best-if not the best,I've read on the subject. There is a great deal of material, but can be digested. Clear and precise in showing WHY and HOW things happened on Nov 22, 1963.

A Pleasant Surprise
In The Day of the Panzer, amateur historian Jeff Danby has written one of the best company-level accounts of the Second World War to appear in recent years. Although the author had a personal interest in writing this account - his grandfather was killed in action during the fighting described - he does not cloud the narrative with useless emotion and he brings a very solid research effort to bear ...

A must for your summer reading list!
Fantastic crime writing. Well-executed mystery-thriller in the remote Shetland Islands. Hooked me from page 1. Starts with a mutilated corpse but nothing is derivative about this novel. Bolton's style of writing; Her wonderfully nuanced main character Tora and the circle of loved (or evil?) ones around her. I couldn't put this down and neither will you. Set aside 36 hours for this one!
