Great book!
I really like it. It's more historical and nostalgic than a practical guide. It's also a lot shorter than I thought. A real quick read. But I'm also using it as a scoring guide, the abbreviations anyways.

Obviously I give it 5 stars
Why?...Because I am the author. The scorekeeping is for baseball. Rules given apply for not only major league baseball but also Little League and various forms of softball. Do not be put off by the 1976 print date. The rules of scorekeeping have not changed since then. There are two paths of training...a more simplified one for entry level scorekeeping and a more advanced one that covers all ...

Simple to understand and simple to practice
This book assumes one thing - people like to win! People inherently want to succeed, but they often don't try or bother because they don't know how to win nor do think it matters if they do win, so they just go through the motions, never reaching their true potential. And the way most management operates today, they're pretty right. What this book points out is that in order to excel, people ...

I was skeptical until I had used it a few times . . .
If you think your memory serves you well on the courses you play regularly, you're in for a surprise. When I first saw a friend of mine using one of these I kidded him about getting old and losing his memory. He told me a pro recommended it for "fine-tuning" your club selection and that it had taken a couple of strokes off his game on the courses he played regularly (when you're a low-handicapper ...

Cowser's trip through memory lane comes alive with emotion, reflection, and plain and simple honesty.
Written by Bob Cowser, Jr., whose previous book "Dream Season" was selected as a New York Times Book Review Editor's Choice, Scorekeeping: Essays from Home is a simple memoir of small-town boyhood, as witnessed by the son of English professors among insular and close-knit townies. Leading the reader through Cowser's adolescence in rural Martin, West Tennessee followed by New Orleans and Lincoln, ...

Excellent book.
This book does a very solid job of clarifying some of the finer points of scorekeeping that are somewhat vague and difficult to comprehend in the baseball rule book. I highly recommend it for anyone who is truly serious about improving the accuracy of their scorekeeping skills. Even novice baseball fans that like to score a game just for kicks while sitting at the ballpark can benefit from ...

Great scorecard- an easy method of learning to keep score.
This book did what it claimed it would do. What else could you expect. I wanted to learn to keep score and that's what it showed me how to do. As a novice (Little League) score keeper I was glad that there really is a written system to help those of us who don't have a baseball background. My son found the section on compling statistics very readable and he now keeps up with all the players on ...
