The Practicing Mind: Bringing Discipline and Focus Into Your Life (AUDIOBOOK)12 reviews
Thomas M. Sterner

Mountain Sage Publishing, 2007

Your Last Self Help Book?
Although I have bought and read literally hundreds of self help books in all categories through Amazon, the Practicing Mind by Thomas M. Sterner is by far the 1st book that has compelled me to write my very first Amazon review. Their are many things that make this book stand out. It is very short, with absolutely, no-fluff or fillings, with the result that every word and every phrase really ...

Inspirational
Tom Miller presents a new way of approaching life nad emotions - and its a way that is not only easy to understand, but natural to apply. His off-the-wall approach keeps you interrested and wanted to learn more. I passed this along to several friends who have also immensely benefited from it. Its a great tool to help people better understand and accept themselves, which in turn helps one be ...

EXCELLENT IF YOU HAVE A HECTIC LIFE!
If your life needs a change, you dont have the budget for psychotherapy, and you don't have time to sit down and read a long complicated book, this may be a big help to you. Think Before You Act: Learning About Self-Discipline and Self-Discipline (Character Education Readers)1 review
Regina Burch

Creative Teaching Press, 2002

Kindergarten or younger
Well what do you expect for $2.99. Only a sentence per page and the book is 16 pages long. I thought it was for 9-12 year olds by reading the review then find it was for K-3 which is on the cover. Cute book but you have to figure most of it out by looking at the photos. Ho hum. Boring.

Science of Self Discipline3 reviews

Nightingale Conant Corp (a), 1990

May be the best tape series I ever purchased
This is one of the best tape series of this genre. In my opinion it may even surpass the Anthony Robbins series! (gasp!) Kerry seems to outline the path clearer than any of the other books and tapes I have read/listened to. I feel that while he tells you where you are headed as most other authors do, he does a superior job on the "how to " part of getting there

Michael Anthony Janke

Special Operations Publishing, 2000

Only self help book you'll ever need
I was in the Army for 4 years and can relate with much of what Michael Janke is talking about. Self discipline is about doing what needs to be done without a drill sergeant or your parents around.

Taming Your Inner Brat: A Guide For Transforming Self-Defeating Behavior18 reviews
Pauline, Ph.D. Wallin

Wildcat Canyon Press, 2004

Fun reading, sensible advice
My own personal inner brat didn't like this book at first. "Baby Sally" didn't like being told that she might not be entitled to whatever she wants whenever she wants it. But the book makes a whole lot of sense. The first thing it suggests is to listen to your inner brat and take those needs into consideration. Then it shows how to make an adult decision, based on reality. I find its sensible ...
