The Everything Stir-Fry Cookbook: 300 Fresh and Flavorful Recipes the Whole Family Will Love (Everything: ...1 review
Rhonda Lauret Parkinson

Adams Media, 2007

A Good Starting Point for Expanding Your Stir Frying Skills
My wife and I purchased this book because we've become fans of stir frying thanks to a new wok and the relative ease and healthiness of such foods. However, we were getting tired of our own creations, mostly because we lacked the creativity or inspiration to broaden our abilities and capabilities in stir frying. This book has provided the inspiration we needed. It is full of many recipes that ...

Betty Crocker One-Dish Meals: Casseroles, Skillet Meals, Stir-Fries and More for Easy, Everyday Dinners ...6 reviews
Betty Crocker Editors

Betty Crocker, 2004

Great cookbook for someone wanting easy recipes
For me, this is a perfect cookbook. I don't have a lot of room in my kitchen. I want meals I can cook quickly. The recipes is food that you pretty much throw together in a hurry. Even the more intricate recipes are easy. These are the kind of meals that women cooked in the 50s, '60s and '70s before the Food Network got middle America women (and yes men too) wanting to be gourmet chefs. If I had ...

The Sensational Skillet Cookbook4 reviews
Wendy Louise

Sourcebooks, Inc., 2004

Great resource for your electric skillet
This is an excellent collection of recipes for the electric skillet. Whether it is traditional fried chicken or stuffed pork chops or something a little more exotic (but just as easy to prepare) like Steak Diane or Veal Scaloppini if it can be made in an electric skillet you will probably find it here. Well written, easy to understand directions make it pretty much impossible to mess up a ...

A Flash in the Pan: Fast, Fabulous Recipes in a Single Skillet5 reviews
Brooke Dojny, Melanie Barnard

Chronicle Books, 2003

My favorite cookbook!
My husband bought this cookbook for me, and of all the cookbooks that we tried, this turned out to be my favorite cookbook that I use the often. Reasons are many -- many dishes look fancy but are often easy to do and taste very fabulous, and they usually don't require hard-to-find ingredients. Another plus is that you don't use a lot of pans and stuff -- you just use the same skillet for ...

Pillsbury: One-Dish Meals Cookbook: More Than 300 Recipes for Casseroles, Skillet Dishes and Slow-Cooker ...16 reviews
Pillsbury Company

Clarkson Potter, 1999

Great looking casseroles and one-dish meals
I have not yet used any of the recipes in this book but I have reviewed all of them. The only problem I have with it is that some people may have to alter the recipes to get rid of some of the salt and fat. They look absolutely delicious and a book like this would be used over and over. Pillsbury cookbooks are my favorites. Their recipes are excellent!

The Cast Iron Skillet Cookbook: Recipes for the Best Pan in Your Kitchen25 reviews
Sharon Kramis, Julie Kramis-Hearne

Sasquatch Books, 2004

The ultimate cookware
. The introduction of the book is dedicated to cast iron pan itself; selection, care and use. The rest of the book is recipes that use the cast iron pan. With cast iron, all you need is the basics to get started and lots of practice. The soda bread recipe brought me back to my childhood in grandma's kitchen, that alone is worth the price of this book. My favorite recipe was the ...

Jack's Skillet: Plain Talk and Some Recipes From a Guy in the Kitchen6 reviews
Jack Butler

Algonquin Books, 1997

The best kind of cookbook
It seems to me that there are three kinds of cookbooks: 1> The massive, reference-kind. Containing not just recipies, but info on how to buy an avacodo, the difference between a pinch and a dash, seventy five different things you can do with garlic, etc. For me, these books are useful, but they take all of the fun out of cooking. Worse, they don't encourage experimentation 2> The regional or ...

365 Easy One Dish Meals Anniversary Edition5 reviews
Natalie H. Haughton

William Morrow Cookbooks, 1996

The ultimate comfort food . . .
I was raised on casseroles: tuna noodle casserole; a ground beef, tomato and elbow macaroni concoction my mother called "goolash" (not to be confused with the Hungarian dish of similar name); stuffed peppers and stuffed cabbage; ham and green beans with new potatoes. Casseroles were a good way to stretch the food budget. In addition, they were regular staples at the monthly church pot luck ...

How Do You Know He's Real?: God Unplugged6 reviews
Amy Hammond Hagberg

Destiny Image Publishers, 2006

After reading this, you certainly KNOW he is real!
Truly, this, and the book before this, are really awesome books! ** Why? Because they give some very good insights into other peoples way to God. Not only that, if you don't know the Bible inside and out (and even if you do, actually!), there are quotations from the Bible explaining the why and hows, depending on the story of the person interviewed. All this, with Amy Hagbergs very nice way of ...

Whether using a skillet to scramble a few eggs for breakfast, or preparing for a LARGE crowd in a special piece of cookware, this book covers all the bases. If you've never used cast-iron cookware, this is a good introduction to the subject-- cast-iron cookware is different from the other ...

Weight Watchers Stir It Up! Super Skillet Cookbook2 reviews

Weight Watchers International, Inc., 2006

Great skillet cooking that anyone can do!
I'm not a WeightWatchers person but, simply as a cookbook, this one really rocks! I cook almost every day for my wife as she gets home from work (I'm retired) and this cookbook is one which makes life pretty easy for me. All the recipes are on the stovetop, in a skillet. You'll find over 150 recipes in this 2006 publication, VERY nicely laid out, one recipe per page, and quite readable as ...
