Sometimes I Like to Curl up in a Ball18 reviews
Vicki Churchill, Charles Fuge

Sterling, 2003

A Daycare FAVORITE!!!
I work in daycare with children mostly between the ages of 18 months and 3 years, and they just LOVE this book! They call it "the boom book" because when the wombat jumps to make noise when he falls down, we always say "BOOM!" all together. They also love the page with all the funny faces, and we have to take 10 minutes to make all the faces together. A must have!

Sometimes My Brother: Helping Kids Understand Autism Through a Sibling's Eyes2 reviews
Angie Healy

Future Horizons, 2005

Great for helping children to understand autism!
I just read this book and it is a great way to explain the characteristics of autism to young children. Autism is a very complex subject and it's very hard to bring it down to a child's level. My son has autism and has many of the traits mentioned in this book. The author explains them all very well. The author gives suggestions on how to personalize the story for other families/children. ...

And Sometimes Why14 reviews
Rebecca Johnson

Putnam Adult, 2008

Beautiful, not tragic
This book is extremely powerful if you like your spouse, feel understood by him or her, are accustomed to disagreeing about big things, and believe that even major problems will sort themselves out. The writer makes the storm of resentment between husband and wife both a logical outcome of events and a complete mystery. She resolves the disorientation and anger in a way I didn't expect but was ...

Sometimes I Act Crazy: Living with Borderline Personality Disorder16 reviews
Jerold J., M.D. Kreisman, Hal Straus

Wiley, 2006

Right on the BDP!
Well written. I had no idea the extent of this personality disorder and how to handle living around them. The author's use of examples provides a more hands on approach and ability for the reader to relate. Easy reading is always best when trying to understand a very difficult, complex and yet simple personality and the author did an excellent job articulating in a lay persons terms. Thank ...

Sometimes Quickly6 reviews
Anne Laughlin

P.D. Publishing, Inc., 2008

A First-Rate Woman-Centered Mystery
A mystery novel with erotic intrigue, a sophisticated urban setting, a sympathetic protagonist, and a suspenseful plot all make for an irresistible combination, in my opinion as an avid consumer of mysteries. Anne Laughlin's debut novel had me in its grip from start to finish. Sometimes Quickly is a page-turner and the kind of high-level entertainment I'm partial to. Lesbians with brains, an ...

Rachel Vail

Scholastic Paperbacks, 2005

We read this book and then made bombaloo pillows!
(review by Bob Smith's wife, Kathy) THis book is about a sweet little girl who sometimes gets angry and then turns into bombaloo, who screams, hits, kicks, and gets sent to her room. And it's scary being bombaloo, she doesn't like how it feels, But then she calms down and is better. I have several books about anger and dealing with emotions, actually. BUt this one is my daughter's favorite ...

A Classic waiting to be discovered
I bought this book for my grandchildren. When I read it the beauty of it's message and the clarity of the lesson was reason for my own moment of joy. I look forward to sharing this book with the children in my life and I suspect they may be reading this same book to their grandchildren.

Sometimes a Great Notion (Penguin Classics)115 reviews
Ken Kesey

Penguin Classics, 2006

Just gotta vote
112 reviews here, all positive so far as I've read. So there's not much more praise to be added. But I feel compelled to cast one more vote, just for History. This is The Great American Novel. Put it on the shelf next to "Life on the Mississippi," and re-read it just as often.

Sometimes I Work in New York3 reviews
Tom Daly

Relevant Ventures, LLC, 2005

My son loved receiving a "postcard from daddy..."
My work frequently requires me to travel away from family, including my three young children. Recently, while packing for a trip, my three-year old son asked me what it was like in "New City" [New York City]. I struggled to describe how it looked and, as his questions continued, I tried to describe what I was going to do there. When I purchased "Sometimes I Work in New York City," I found ...

Sometimes I Like to Curl Up in a Ball15 reviews

better than goodnight moon
We have been reading good night moon to our daughter since she was born till about 11 months. Our baby sitter gave us this book as a gift and our daughter loves it. For a few weeks we gave her the choice of which book she wanted us to read at night and every time she picked the wombat book. Enough said. She giggles whenever we read it.

Sometimes I Feel Like A Mouse2 reviews
Jeanne Modessitt

Buy this book and watch your child bloom!
Never before have I gotten so much enjoyment for $5! My 2 1/2 year old daughter simply adores this book, memorizing it after the third or fourth read. Now she "reads" and acts out each page with great drama! I am delighted with the way the authors have related emotions to animals in a way children can truly understand. This book has helped my daughter blossom and understand her emotions so much ...

How to Be Your Own Veterinarian (Sometimes): A Do-It-Yourself Guide for the Horseman13 reviews
Ruth B. James

Alpine Press, 1985

One of the best
I have had this book almost from the time it came out. It tells you how to see confirmation flaws, what they are, and how they can affect your horse. It gives common illnesses, what they are, how they are caused, symptoms, treatment, and sometimes long term care for the particular problem. It explains in great detail the structure of the foot, general guidelines on feeding, and most of the ...
