Best USM in a while
The opening of the book is a nice change of pace from the recent clone craziness, but it all comes together for one of the most memorable USM endings ever. Stuart Immonen's art is fantastic! It seems much more emotive than his work on Nextwave and suits the book to a T. He's even controlled his habit of giving women giant, bouffant, 80's hair [for the most part]. Personally, I like his stuff ...

Great new movie book for readers!
This is a great little book. It's fabulous for early readers excited about the new Spiderman movie coming out. My little one learned to read it and is having a ball with all the new villains introduced in this book. Each of the main characters are introduced, then the villains. But, Spiderman is portrayed as a hero and encourages kids to be a hero too. Well loved (we've read it nightly over ...

The Starfish and the Spider relevance to Relationship Economics
As succinctly illustrated in Rod Beckstrom's book The Starfish and the Spider, the massively complex and dynamic ecosystems of today's highly matrixed corporations can more effectively adapt to the market dynamics by way of decentralized competency teams. Substantial organizational inertia creates difficult personality dynamics, and also has the potential to bring out highly destructive corporate ...

great story for your daughter
This book is great! The illustrations are so impressive that even though they only black and white your children will love them. We spend time on each page just looking over the illustration each time we find something we didn't see before. And the story, WOW! This story is a must for every little girl. The story teaches young girls not to be niave and believe every little flattering word ...

Great for young ages!
We've been reading this to our little guy since he was three months old, if even that, and he was glued to it from the start, easily his favorite book, still, at nearly 13 months. Great color, great rhythm, and lots of fun bugs! :)

One of Hayley's Favourites

Vibrant, vivid illustration and a wonderful tale
The Anansi stories have been handed down through generations of Ashanti culture. This book is a wonderful, vibrant and vivid story for children of all ages. Born in Ghana I left at aged 3, leaving much of the Ghanaian culture behind. At aged 30 I can still remember a song about Anansi the spider, the only remnants left of my native tongue. I was given the Anansi book as a child, it captivated me, ...

Wonderful with an Unexpected Result
I bought "Diary of a Spider" thinking that Doreen Cronin's books are always a big hit with my daughter. After all, she just loves, "Click, Clack, Moo!" and the others of that series. I thought getting this series could introduce her to the world of insects and "icky" things. Instead, I found something unexpected happened. My daughter was 5 when I first started reading "The Diary of a ...

The Itsy Bitsy Spider
ISBN 1879085771 - If you're foolish enough to take on generations-old childrens' songs, you'd better do a very good job or expect to be tarred and feathered! I was, honestly, all set to hate this book... but Trapani did a fantastic job. You know the story, you don't really need a recap. Spider, spout, rain, etc. Trapani, however, has added 5 new verses, giving our spider friend several new ...

On par with all the Audobon Guides
Very informative like all the Audobon Guides, and lots of photos, which really helps. Only caveat is that I'd like to see them have several volumes to cover ALL insects in North America, as there are too many to cover in just this one guide. Although I am aware that they have separate guides for butterflies.

A very satisfying read
Very Hard Choices revisits the characters introduced in Very Bad Deaths, and again presents them with difficult, painful, life-threatening circumstances that force them to consider both the ethics and the morality of the choices they face. To say much more might upset certain surprising turns in the storyline, but suffice it to say that the first reviewer of this book got it wrong. The story ...

What kind of spider is that?
This was one of the first books I bought with my own money when I was a kid. I have since bought an updated version since most of the pages have come unglued in the old one (from use, not poor quality). Typical golden book illustrations, not photographs. Easy enough for a kid to use but filled with enough spider species for any adult to use. I have only found one or two spiders in my life ...

Easy book to get beginning readers interested
Maybe you've heard of me. Maybe you've seen me. I am Spider-Man. Above is the first page of this beginning reader. The writing is representative of the next 27 pages--contractions and some multi-syllable words add a bit of challenge to one who is just learning how to read, but the best thing about it is that it's fun! The emphasis is NOT on simple writing. The emphasis is on the story, ...

From a child psychologist
I work with children in foster and adoptive care and have found this book to be extraordinary during therapy sessions in helping children open up about feelings related to not being with birth parents. Many of the children relate well to being happy with an "everyday Mommy" who loves them best, even though they didn't start life in her tummy. I recommend the book to others who work with children ...

very good
"The Spider Sapphire Mystery" is one of the best Nancy Drews I've ever read. It was a little more exciting than the other books. It's about Nancy trying to find a genuine spider sapphire and she's also trying to find the brother of a famous singer. This brother, named Tizam, then turns out to be part of the spider sapphire theft---but without his knowledge. Confused? Hurry and read the book!
