Fantastic Field Guide
My boys, ages 9 and 6 have enjoyed reading the Spiderwick Chronicles, but when I gave them the Field Guide, they were over the moon. Holly Black and Tony DeTerlizzi bring the characters and fantasy come to life. My boys actually reference this guide while going on nature walks, enjoying imaginary trolls and faeries! After we watched the movie, my daughter wondered why there needed to be a field guide for so few mythological creatures. She was right!!! The movie cut out so many main elements and characters, that the books were a welcome relief to know the story that the authors actually intended to share. This is a great start to a fun series. Kids will love to read this book and the others. They are only 100 pages each, with a picture on every other page, to it is great for a first chapter book. Great stories in which disc 5 is not defective....
Disc 5 is not defective. It starts with Chapter 2 because Chapter 1 is on Disc 4, tracks 17 and 18. These are great stories for kids and the narration was terrific. I highly recommend it.
