The STORY OF A MARRIAGE was a well balanced, well-written book. The plot was realistic, the characters were "flushed out" and the San Francisco - 1950's setting was memorable . Having current events of the day and references to pop culture , a lollypop on a curved soft handle, were superb details . This book series is the perfect balance between a scripted, rigid history program and a completely unstructured approach to teaching history. I use it in a homeschooling history coop group with 6 girls, age 5-8. We have a great time. I use the study questions, we fill out the map, and then we do a craft. Wonderful Product
The history is in a story format that kids can relate to and understand. I homeschool 3 children and absolutely love this curriculum. The story pages to color help my youngest follow along as the older ones read. We have the activity book and there are supplementary books that we get from the library. I don't know why the same reviewer listed 2 reviews saying this was a boring series, but they couldn't be more wrong. This is the perfect way to explore history, from beginning to end. The narration is fun and interesting. My 8-year-old and 5-year-old love to listen to the stories and enjoy the workbook as well. Even my 2-year-old will listen to it.
