Ghost Town at Sundown9 reviews
Mary Pope Osborne

Demco Media, 1997

MY BOY LOVES READING IT
My 1st grader hates to put it down, he would rather read Magic Tree House books, than play video games. He even reads them to his class and explains the story for show and tell. In his kindergarten class the teacher would also let him read the Magic Tree House books out loud, not to give her a break, but to promote reading out loud. Great books!

Apache Sundown3 reviews
Ed Hewson

Fanjoy & Bell, Ltd., 1996

A Western novel for everyone
This Western novel is more real than most. Well researched. The story twists in unusual ways with an excellant conclusion. The epilogue puts some closure on everything so the reader isn't left wondering. I can't wait for the sequel "The Copper Queen". I'm not a Western novel fan but enjoyed Apache Sundown a lot, it's a book anyone should enjoy

Nowhere, TX (Sundown Riders)5 reviews
RALPH COMPTON

Highbridge Audio, 2004

Great Read
The town of Nowhere is in No Man's Land, an area yet to be given a name or statehood. A place where the only law is that dealt out by a one-handed Marshal, which aint alot. A small town struggling to survive. Then Black Jack and his outlaws decide to make Nowhere home. At first it works well, the uneasy peace between outlaws, citizens and the cowboys who work in the surrounding area. Eventually ...

Come Sundown4 reviews
Mike Blakely

Forge Books, 2007

Real Literature
Blakely is more than an author. I couldn't put this book down. It has history that should be required reading for every high school student to learn about the western plains tribes and the Europeans moving in. Blakely weaves classical music through battles, philosophy from both the European and Indian cultures, descriptions of horses used for buffalo hunting and battle, warfare from the Comanche ...

Prescription for Success: The Rexall Showcase International Story and What It Means to You5 reviews
James W. Robinson

Prima Lifestyles, 1999

A window admitting light into a sometimes dark industry.
Mr. Robinson gives a peek inside one particular company in the industry called network marketing. His experienced comments combined with those of several leaders in Rexall Showcase Intn'l. combine to really let one see what goes on, how it's done, and why. I found it to be a portrait of a group of very diverse individuals who have discovered a common way to do more good than they could have, ...

Mind Magic, Fourth Edition7 reviews
Bill Harvey

distributed by Sundown Press, 1998

The most important "self-help" book of the past 20 years...
Yes, I know that's a grandiose statement. I first read Bill Harvey's book about 20 years ago. At the time, I was studying psychology and had read many books on personal development. With the continued growth of the "new-age" movement and particularly, the assimilation of many of these concepts into business management practices, there has since been a literal explosion of books on focusing, ...

Sundown Legends: A Journey into the American Southwest2 reviews
Michael Checchio

Thomas Dunne Books, 2000

A masterful writer
Michael Checchio is one of the nation's best writers about nature. This volumn is, in fact, a concise and beautiful evocation of the Southwest, full of paradox. In a passage about the San Juan River in New Mexico, for instance, Checchio describes how a well-intentioned environmental approach -- catch-and-release -- can produce bizarre results: huge, docile trout that give up virtually without ...

Along the Gold Rush Trail (Sundown Books)1 review
Gail Wilson Kenna

New Readers Press, 1989

true-life glimpse of the gold-rush for school-aged children
Gail Wilson Kenna drew on actual letters written by Eugene Chase to his sister as he traveled west in search of his fortune. Kenna spins the actual events into an exciting true-life adventure, giving young readers an accurate picture of the hardships and heartaches that were found Along the Gold Rush Trail. A great supplement to the study of the history of the West.

Sundown Jim (Armed Services edition)1 review
Ernest Haycox

Editions for the Armed Services, 1945

1 against 50? They haven't got a chance!
Sundown Jim fights a solitary battle. It won't be that close. He enters a new town where bad guy is trying to take over everything. One man against 50? You've got to be kidding! Because this is Ernest Haycox writing, it is exciting, more credible and interesting than this same plot by anyone else - with extra dollop of Haycox dry humor.

Bucked Out in Dodge (Sundown Riders)2 reviews
Ralph Compton, David Robbins

Signet, 2004

Great Western!
This was a terrific western novel! Written by David Robbins, this novel tells of 4 young cowboys who get into a heap of trouble in Dodge city after a cattle drive. All the characters are different and plenty colorful. David Robbin's writing style has been a great addition for Ralph Compton fans. This is the second one I've read by him, and I can't decide which I love most. I hope he ...

Birthday Boy: Reading Level 3 (Sundown Books)1 review
Thomas Ogren

New Readers Press, 1992

I wrote Birthday Boy
I wrote Birthday Boy while I was living on the farm in 1982 and didn't sell it until 1988. It went through several printings and every single copy of both printings was sold; none were ever remaindered. But new editors at New Readers Press decided they wanted to only publish dumbed down books from already famous authors. Thus Birthday Boy was allowed to go out of print. I and a great many ...

Discover Nature at Sundown: Things to Know and Things to Do (Discover Nature Series)2 reviews
Elizabeth P. Lawlor

Stackpole Books, 1995

Night-time Nature Study
Here's a nifty book about the animals and plants that hunt and forage, mate and mingle, and attract pollinators at night. The author takes us to a realm of amazing smells and eerie sounds that one only finds after dark, and shows us who's "who-ing." Rather than limit the reader to brief discussions of nocturnal mammals and birds, this author begins with flowers then heads through some insects ...
