Great book for intermediate level
I found this book really engaging. It gives you the opportunity to learn within a particular context. The workbook provides great reinforcement. I like the idea of having the grammar section at the end of the book which makes it more inviting (it's not just about learning the grammar, it's about using it). This is a great map that is well worth having if you plan to go hiking in the Ventana Wilderness. But it's not perfect. I've been up and down the PCH several times, but as a midwesterner, most of the flora and lots of the fauna were unfamiliar to me.
