The Ingmar Bergman Archives
TASCHEN America Llc, 2008
The complete works of Ingmar Bergman: an homage to one of the most esteemed film and theater artists of all time, began in cooperation with Bergman himself and made with full access to his archives. Before his death in 2007, Bergman gave co-publishers TASCHEN and Max Ström complete access to his archives at The Bergman Foundation, and permission to reprint his writings and interviews, many of which have never been seen outside of Sweden. ...

The Circus: 1870-1950 8 reviews
Taschen, 2008
The Circus-1870 to 1950 I own many circus books and i was advised about this one is a must.
For a $200 circus book it better be great one and the waters better part.
When it arrived I was amazed at the size and the weight of it. Then i open it up and it was like the land of Oz going from black and white to TECHNICOLOR.
In all my life I have never seen a book printed like this with all those beautiful color photos of ...

Guidelines for Online Success 5 reviews
TASCHEN America Llc, 2008
Finally a book on design philosophy Like the author said in the book, this is not a for Dummies book. It is a book though that is needed more than phyically being skilled to create a site. It's one thing to know how to physically put together a website but its a nother thing to create a website that gets attention. This book is filled with expert advice from various web design gurus across the world.
And I must say that this ...

Terryworld (Taschen 25th Anniversary) 6 reviews
Taschen, 2008
Terror-World! Terry's world might be, hell, it's MEANT to be a little scary for alot of people! Not in the sense of depicting violence or even real depravity but rather in the near-apocalypitc vulgarity with which it depicts post modern-hedonism, where sexual pleasure is about as idealized as a Tijuana donkey-show.
A man, laying half-passed-out on a bed, is seen puking, Terry (who appears in many of his ...

Interesting Book I'm still studying and reading through it, but it has an interesting magic that's missing in many of today's similar subjects - innocence.

Case Study Houses: 1945-1966: The California Impetus (Taschen Basic Architecture) 13 reviews Elizabeth A T Smith
Taschen, 2006
please--give me a break Ok, Ok, there's a beautiful, gigantic, definitive book on the Case Study Houses at $136. Then there's this small, slick little book, presenting each and every case study house, in order, editorially excellent through and through. An outstanding summary of an under-documented era of modern architecture, one with a crucially democratic agenda. $9.99. The book itself represents the case study ...

The Stanley Kubrick Archives (25th Anniversary Special Edtn) (25th Anniversary Special Edtn) 37 reviews
TASCHEN America Llc, 2008
Not $600+. $44 ! Amazon now has this book available for pre-order for an October 1, 2008 release date, for $44.10 from a $70 retail cost. Look under 'The Stanley Kubrick Archives [ILLUSTRATED] (Hardcover)'. I would like information on book dimensions as the first print run was on average 40 by 30cm.

The Polaroid Book: Selections from the Polaroid Collections of Photography (Taschen's 25th Anniversary ... 9 reviews
Taschen, 2008
What a SEXY book!!! WOW... words can't even begin to describe how much I love this book! It's about time they released a book like this! And the wrapper of this book is genius! It looks like a gigantic box of Polaroid film... I didn't even want to remove the cover at first... I fondled it for awhile and then I slowly peeled it off and curled up on the couch for an hour or two and looked at all the pretty pictures.

Art Now! 2 (25th Anniversary Special Edtn) 4 reviews
Taschen, 2008
Keep Pace with the Changing Art Scene What is 'contemporary art' - a question whose answer changes almost on a daily basis - is the topic that floods the pages of this every fine Taschen Book. Edited by Uta Grosenick this generously illustrated volume is about as democratic as a survey can be. The artists discussed are those before the public today and are presented in the alphabetical listing that precludes lumping them into ...

Much Too Much to Absorb At One Sitting We've all gone to an art museum and after about an hour of seeing one masterpiece after another, we've reached the saturation point and can really not properly absorb seeing any more art no how matter how great it is. This boxed, coffee table book of color photographs had the same effect on me as becoming saturated in an unfamiliar museum. This Taschen printed volume differs from his earlier ...

Ando: Complete Works (Taschen Spring) 4 reviews Philip Jodidio
Taschen, 2007
Comprehensive and well-presented Content wise, it is very similar to Ando (Taschen Basic Architecture series) - a smaller format paperback. In fact, the two books share many photos. This book adds lots of hand drawings and CAD illustrations to complement the photos and to help readers understand the perspective. But don't take me wrong, this is not a textbook, this is a well-designed coffee-table book that you can enjoy reading ...

Taschen, 2008
Not nearly enough This book originally was planned for 1956 but somehow the gallies [no pun?] wound up buried beneath Ed Norton's collection of books on Astrology. I guess he became friendly with the original publisher who had an office near his worksite on Madison Avenue.
Just a little fantasy...on a fanatsy. The "fantasy" today is that femininity cannot square with workplace and social assertiveness. We're on ...
