Skinny Bitching: A thirty-something woman mouths off about age angst, pregnancy pressure, and the dieting ...4 reviews
Jenny Lee

Delta, 2005

I haven't laughed this hard at a book...ever!!!
I'd picked this book up on a whim after reading the highlights bullet-pointed on the back cover, though at first glance it seemed to be run-of-the-mill chick lit. Glad I was so very wrong. I haven't laughed this hard in a good long while. And never from a book. Page after page. My hand to heaven, I hereby admit was in tears with hysterics before I even got passed the prologue and ...

After the Baby Boomers: How Twenty- and Thirty-Somethings Are Shaping the Future of American Religion3 reviews
Robert Wuthnow

Princeton University Press, 2007

Lots of statistics, helpfully interpreted
After reading Smith and Denton's book, Soul Searching, with its great statistics on teens and faith, I wanted a book that was similar with information on young adults. I needed facts, not feelings, and this book offers that. I find it fascinating and easy reading, though I must admit I don't study every table carefully! It has been quite useful in my thesis work with young adults and faith.

I Feel Thin Today: And other musings of a thirty-something single woman3 reviews
Victoria McIrvin

iUniverse, Inc., 2004

A MUST READ!!!
I loved this book even more than I loved "He's Just Not That Into You." It's like the soulmate to that book ... a group of essays all about the lessons learned by a woman who couldn't admit to herself that "he's just not that into me" until she started building up her own self-esteem/sense of self. "I Feel Thin Today" validates the struggles of doing so with wit, character, and a gentleness ...

Loser Goes First: My Thirty-Something Years of Dumb Luck and Minor Humiliation27 reviews
Dan Kennedy

Three Rivers Press, 2004

This Dan Kennedy Is Not The "Glazer/Kennedy" Dan Kennedy
I bought this book thinking it would be an amusing insight into the life of the master of all copywriting gurus, Dan Kennedy. Well, while the writer of this book is not that Dan Kennedy and I was dissapointed at first, I did find the book very entertaining and this Dan Kennedy does indeed have writing talent -- even if it's not really any help as far as commercial copywriting goes. I definitely ...
