The Berenstain Bears and the Golden Rule (Berenstain Bears®) 3 reviews Michael Berenstain
Zonderkidz, 2008
Very Valuable! It's been years since I have read any of the adventures with the Berenstain Bears, but it was definitely a strong part of my earliest childhood that I have spare memories of. The Berenstain Bears and the Golden Rule is a winner in my opinion and a shelf keeper for every family.
Sister Bear gets to learn more about that phrase she knows so well, but has never really considered. This classic is ...

1-2-3 Magic for Kids: Helping Your Children Understand the New Rules 3 reviews Thomas W. Phelan, Tracy M. Lewis
Parentmagic, Inc., 2008
1-2-3 Magic for Kids review Reading this book with our kids does a better job than us explaining the regular 1-2-3 Magic book. We purchased both and found the Kids book was easier and made it part of our books at bedtime that we read. One chapter per night was best for us.

Dungeon Master's Guide: Core Rulebook II (Dungeons & Dragons d20 3.5 Fantasy Roleplaying) 49 reviews
Wizards of the Coast, 2003
Help the Dungeon Master! Please! This is a great supplement for the DM. It gives you loads of great information in a clear manner. I really like the way this book is organised, it is quite intuitive. The re-vamp of Magic Items is a great improvement, as well as the introduction of Prestige Classes. My group LOVES prestige classes, maybe a little too much!
Overall if you want to introduce you group to the wonderful world ...

Three Simple Rules: A Wesleyan Way of Living 4 reviews Reuben P. Job
Abingdon Press, 2007
Three Simple Rules This is a wonderful little hardcover volume which, if implemented, will revolutionize your life. John Wesley espoused three simple rules: Do No Harm, Do Good, and Stay in Love with God. Though these rules sound amazingly simple - and they are - yet to actually practice them may indeed be the hardest thing you've ever done. This small book shows how difficult the instructions of Jesus (and Wesley) ...

Fast Track (The Sisterhood: Rules of the Game, Book 3) 21 reviews Fern Michaels
Zebra, 2008
My Guilty Pleasure.... I'll admit it, these aren't normally what I read, but I LOVE the sisterhood books. I've read them all from the first and wait anxiously for the next one. I'm so glad the author is continuing them. They are outlandish and far fetched and absolutely wonderful!

Confessor: Chainfire Trilogy, Part 3 (Sword Of Truth, Book 11) 236 reviews Terry Goodkind
Tor Books, 2007
Hanging on every last word! So of course all the other books in The Sword of Truth series I read in break-neck speed, I was excited and couldn't wait to read what was next, but not this one. I held on to every word, couldn't bare to turn the page because I knew it was drawing me closer to the last. I let myself absorb and enjoy every bit of it not wanting to miss a thing, I was completely satisfied with the way good ol' ...

Player's Handbook, Version 3.5 (Dungeon & Dragons Roleplaying Game: Core Rules) 126 reviews Jonathan Tweet, Monte Cook, ...
Wizards of the Coast, 2003
Seeing the new system made me realize how much I like this one The 3.5 system allowed for massive customization and character creation, as long as you have an imaginative group and a DM who is good with making house rules to bring things down to earth, then this was the best D&D system to date.
The forth edition really seems set to drain the money out of one's pockets. There's the miniature push, the web site subscription that should help you to solve ...

Everybody even a fund manger should read it once I just finished reading this book.

Pablo Picasso: Breaking All the Rules: Breaking All the Rules (Smart About Art) 3 reviews
Grosset & Dunlap, 2002
An original concept in presenting art I am now a true fan of True Kelley, author and illustrator of "Pablo Picasso: Breaking All the Rules." Instead of presenting information about Picasso--his life and works--she gives the reader/viewer a new way of looking at art. This book is written as a school project/report by a student.
Simon Packard is a student in Ms. Brandt's class, whose letter opens this book. The unit on famous ...

Without Pity: Ann Rule's Most Dangerous Killers 14 reviews Ann Rule
Pocket, 2003
Selected True Crime Stories Ann Rule chose a dozen cases of this book. In each case she was acquainted with some of the people mentioned: victim, survivors, detectives, or the prosecutors of defense attorneys. Sometimes the killer. The first three cases are all new; the last nine cases were taken from previously published books. This is a good introduction to her writings. Note how often economic factors are in the ...

Willimena Rules! Rule Book #6: How to Face Up to the Class Bully (Willimena Rules!) 4 reviews Valerie Wilson Wesley
Hyperion Book CH, 2007
"Willimena Rules" says my twin daughters It's has been very difficult trying to find books for my twin 8yr old daughters.
I wanted a series of books with the star character being an African American girl just having fun and doing kid stuff. A book that will make them know that reading is fun. This book does just that and more.
I only wish that there were more of them because I already bought them all.
If you're looking for a ...

Wisdom Distilled from the Daily: Living the Rule of St. Benedict Today 18 reviews Joan Chittister
HarperOne, 1991
Every once in a while, you find a gem. This is one of them. Every page is filled with peace and wisdom. I found this book, of course, "by accident" (that is, by the grace of God) just at the time my extraordinarily holy Catholic parish priest and spiritual director was discerning whether or not to become a Benedictine monk. This book will deepen my life, i'm sure of it. A good companion book, at least for me, is Jean-Pierre de ...

Santa Fe Rules 8 reviews Stuart Woods
HarperTorch, 1993
A Pageturner for sure! I brought this book along with me to read during an originally short plane trip. I started reading it on the way home and after two planes and a 5 hour delay in the middle, I easily finished this book in one day. This was a great book to have with me because it was really a page turner and helped to quickly pass the time. One thing I think Stuart Woods does well is put several twists into his ...

Wizards of the Coast, 2006
The Complete Book of Kobolds First off, the Spellscales were a OK idea that went bellyup. The feats and spells almost completely geared towards sorcerers, and the Prestige Classes were uninspired. Slightly pricy, as well. All the book's faults would give it two stars - if I bought the book on these alone.
But I didn't buy this book for the feats or the Prestige Classes. Fourth Edition is coming out, and all the rules in ...

Camp Rules!: Super Special (Katie Kazoo, Switcheroo) 1 review Nancy E. Krulik
Grosset & Dunlap, 2007
A "Super Special" Switcheroo The "Katie Kazoo" series is about an elementary age girl who received a granting of her wish to be someone else. In each book in this series she experiences (temporarily) a change into someone else, and during the period of change she usually creates a conflict that she has to work to resolve after she turns into Katie again. My daughters (similar in age to Katie) love these books and usually ...
