help in the wsop
I found the information contained in Kill Phil useful & productive. It can provide another weapon in the arsenal of a serious poker player. No system of play can substitute for hours of practice, lots of reading, and constantly striving for improvement in your game. I experimented with Kill Phil in the recent WSOP Ladies circuit event in Tunica and went from placing 27th last year to placing ...

A Rare Book Worth 5 Stars
I am no avid golfer but have been attracted to the Nationwide tour and Q school because even I knew there is so much more at stake there than worrying about who falls out of the PGA's top 10. This book has honest drama on every page. I didn't realize how many phases Q school had and that it is even more of a gauntlet than I had imagined. As you watch old pros who have tasted glory and money ...

Best book(s) in tournament poker
I think Harrington's book and it's sequels are the best books ever written about no limit hold'em tournaments. The first part of the series covers strategic concepts about tournament poker, the second part tells how to play in the ending of a tournament, and third part is the workbook for reviewing the concepts of first two books. Before reading this book (and the sequels), I have been mostly ...

Essential addition to the library of every tournament player
If you play freeze-out tournaments (Anything else played today?) you'll find this book to be an essential source-book and reference. An understanding of the concepts and examples presented will give any player a better foundation from which to make decisions - and from which to approach the optimum decision at critical points. The discussion of play on the bubble is alone worth much more than ...

Excellent, this book will help your game
This series (I own all three) is very well written. Volume three is the workbook, which essentially a book-length quiz that you then grade yourself on, but it is very well done. I was able to identify weaknesses in my game and improve. Highly recommended. I say spend the money and get all three volumes. Your purchase will pay for itself very quickly.

This Book made a difference
This is one of the best poker books I have ever read . I had been playing poker and SNG's for about a year and was very frustrated with my results and then I came accross SNG Strategy .This book gave me a very concrete idea of how to play every phase of the SNG game low blind , mid blind and most importantly the high blind and bubble play. This instruction was followed up with easy to follow hand ...

This book WILL improve your game...
Unless you're a math genius or your name is Chris Ferguson, you need this book. Top-to-bottom odds and probabilities for limit and no-limit hold'em. Loaded with charts and explanations. I purchased this book after seeing the charts in the back of the book ... unlike any I've seen elsewhere. You can't go wrong with this book ... it's one of my top favorites.

Great book for those with Experience
This is a true gem in the wacky world of poker books. After Sklanski & Malmuth, Super System I/II, and the Harrington trilogy, there are very few poker books that actually offer original content or any new insights into the game of poker. True, Bill Chen's "The Mathematics of Poker" offers both - to some extent - but in a format that is better suited for someone working on dissertation research ...

Great Addition to Volume 1
There have been many in-depth reviews of this book so I will make this short. This book builds on the concepts in Volume 1 to further improve your playing. Some of the concepts and strategies are not as intuitive but make perfect sense and are statistically sound (e.g., As your M and the M of your opponents decrease - avoid playing small pairs and mid to low suited connectors since the implied ...

reasonably well-written, useful strategic advice with some caveats
First, some of you may be interested in how this new expanded edition compares to the previous edition. I don't have the previous edition, but in this new expanded edition, there are viii + 346 pages, including the 8-page index. The principal new portion is Part Five: "Additional No-Limit Hold'em Concepts" which runs from page 214 to page 282. The rear cover flatly states that this edition ...

I've read it to tatters
March 5, 2008 I first discovered this book in my local library . After I had taken it out twice I bought a copy of my own . I took it with me when I went to Las Vegas in December, 2007. I entered 13 tournaments and cashed in three of them . In almost every case I built up my chip stack rapidly and early and, true to Snyder's own observations, I only got in trouble when I preceived I had a good ...

An Absolutely Wonderful Book--Master-ful
Ron Green says it best in his introduction:"(To) you who make the Masters happen every year,...please accept this book in appreciation." This book is Ron Green,Sr.'s gift to the Masters as the Masters is Augusta National's (Bobby Jones' and Clifford Roberts')gift to golf. It is lovingly and caringly written and is a fitting tribute to golf's greatest tournament, the last of the truly great ...

Well Worth the Read...A Lipped Out Birdie
Chris Lewis does exactly what he sets out to do in his introduction. He gives flesh and blood--personality--to PGA Tour players, and he does it very well...very, very well. In an age where members of the media have become personalities themselves, often making their "names" at the expense of the people they cover, Lewis' book is a welcome addition to golf writing and publications... It's ...

Michael Craig, the author, is a regular writer for several leading poker magazines, including Card Player magazine (where he first broke the story). He ...

Sorry only in French ... ...
