Great Resource
As someone who deals with variety of International tax issues on daily basis, I often refer to this book as a refresher on the basics. The book is not very deep technically, but the examples used and materials covered makes it a must-have on my desk at all times. I'm about the upgrade it to the next edition.

There is Nothing Else and This is Pretty Good
This book had 90 percent of what I needed to know for my final, in a concise and clear fashion. I've not read any of the other books in the E&E series, so I can't comment on other's complaints. The only thing that this book really does not touch on at all is 9-4XX, so I recommend learning these sections from an outline or your assigned course material.

Must read for those who want to develop a TA system!
i'm glad that most who reviewed it here got it! it is a little mathematically beefy. even if you can't grasp the heavy math of the last chapters, the layman can benefit from the graphical buy/sell/hold signals and easy offset moving average methodology. while this book doesn't provide the holy grail, it gives you "willie wonka's golden ticket" into the wall street candy factory...

Clearly written, understandable intro to a complex subject
Transaction processing is a daunting topic, and this is one of the few books that provides the basics in a clear, understandable manner without overwhelming the reader. Most of the book is focused solely on transaction processing, but it touches on queuing as well, which makes it the ideal first book for anyone who is seeking details that extend beyond pure TP. I like the way that the authors ...

Must read for every serious J2EE developer
This book gives a high level view of how transactional middleware is built for J2EE App Servers and containers, which I think is just the right amount that any serious J2EE developer should know. More often than not, we all have heard that the J2EE application developer need not know the internals of of Distributed Transaction Processing. It should all be hidden/transparent. But I am of the ...

A Top 3 law study aid
An efficient, affordable, effective way to learn Secured Transactions if you didn't take it in law school. I listened to the complete lecture once during my bar exam prep and a select part (on priorities) during the lunch break on exam day. It was like Spak had stolen the bar examiners' working notes. He gave a one-sentence rule that allowed me to answer a thirty minute secured transactions ...

Showing its age, but still has a lot to offer
For nearly a decade this book has been the definitive reference on transaction processing. Although the more recent, May 2001 book titled "Transactional Information Systems: Theory, Algorithms, and the Practice of Concurrency Control" by Gerhard Weikum and Gottfried Vossen will probably supplant this book as the standard reference, there is still much material that makes this book useful. In ...
