The New York Times Think Outside the Box Crosswords: 75 Specially Selected Witty, Wild Puzzles (New York ... 1 review Will Shortz
St. Martin's Griffin, 2008
So Disappointed I bought 2 copies of this book - one for myself and one for my husband's grandmother. As much as she loves crossword puzzles, I won't be giving Gramma the copy I bought for her. It would drive her nuts.
When I read the description of the book I really expected to see some Merl Reagle puzzles in it. He's my all time favorite. I haven't seen any of his puzzles so that disappointed me.
It ...

Da Wild, Da Crazy, Da Vinci (Time Warp Trio) 1 review Jon Scieszka
Viking Juvenile, 2004
History presented in an interesting way is history learned Joe, Sam and Fred have a book that when they open it emits a vapor that will serve as a time machine. In this adventure, they go back in time to Italy during the life of Leonardo Da Vinci. Considered by many to be the all-time greatest breadth of talent, Da Vinci had a wild imagination, a sound scientific mind and the skills of the most talented of artists.
When they go back, they have no ...

3D Game Engine Architecture: Engineering Real-Time Applications with Wild Magic (The Morgan Kaufmann Series ... 9 reviews David H. Eberly
Morgan Kaufmann, 2004
Good software engineering book Well, needless to say, Eberly rocks. This is a great book on game engine architecture - even though it's less mathematically intensive than Eberly's other books (which, for many, is a good thing), it has a very good coverage of software engineering aspects of game engines, as it explains in detail how (and why) the WildMagic engine is organized. Do keep in mnid, though, that the book's purpose is ...

Da Wild, Da Crazy, Da Vinci #14 (Time Warp Trio) Jon Scieszka
Puffin, 2006
It was Sam?s bright idea to look for the inventor of The Book. But when the guys land in fifteenth-century Italy, they meet up with Leonardo da Vinci. You probably know that Leonardo da Vinci painted the Mona Lisa. Did you know that he also invented an early version of a helicopter and a tank, and that he planned to execute the Time Warp Trio for spying on his inventions? Now it?s going to take at least three more bright ideas, two magic ...

Juiced: Wild Times, Rampant 'Roids, Smash Hits, and How Baseball Got Big 164 reviews Jose Canseco
HarperEntertainment, 2006
Definitly worth a read! Found this book to be very candid & HONEST assessment about one man's career in MLB. I read this book after reading 'Game of Shadows', then went on to read Jose Canseco's other book 'Vindicated' and found all these books compelling and informative. I admire anyone that can make a mistake (?), learn from it and then own up to it. Like him or not, Mr Canseco did a great public service by exposing ...

Snappy Little Jungle: Have a Wild Time (Snappy Little Pop-Ups) 3 reviews Dugald Steer
Silver Dolphin, 2004
Great Puppet Book I bought this book nearly two years ago for my now 4-year-old son. It has been a great hit for bedtime reading ever since. For the first few months, in fact, the greatest problem was getting him OUT of the book. The colors and the pictures are great, as is the engineering. My son and I are great fans of pop-up books in general. What distinguishes the Snappy Little series is the way in which many ...

Destiny's Denial (The Mac'LomainTrilogy 2) 2 reviews
The Wild Rose Press, 2008
Simply Romance Reviews Destiny's Denial is the second book in Sky Purington's The Mac'Lomain Trilogy, the first one is Fate's Monolith and the third one coming soon is Sylvan's Mist. So far I have loved this series and I am anxiously awaiting the third tale.
Magic, dreams and rogue Highland Scots combine to make these stories much more than just time travel. With wizards and prophesies and two families seemingly ...

Fate's Monolith (The Mac'LomainTrilogy) 1 review
The Wild Rose Press, 2007
Book Cravings Ms. Purington did a good job with this story. She kept me intrigued, I wanted to know more about Arianna and what was happening to her. I loved solving the mystery of the man who's voice she hears. This story is well written and nicely paced. I have no complaints for this project. The length is perfect for me, just right to sink into.

The Wild Rose Press, 2007
What a great story! I just finished reading this book and, wow, did I love it. The story was intriguing and kept me glued to my seat. I hated to reach the final pages! The author has a wonderful storytelling style and I thoroughly enjoyed how she portrayed the characters' thoughts and actions. I also loved how the plot took its own twists and turns, ones that were definitely not predictable. This is an ...

The Scarecrow Press, 1999
Important Reading for Baseball Historians Marty Appel bring us a signficant book about 19th century baseball, of which not enough is written. This book is also one of 27 that The Easton Press has chosen in its deluxe library of the 27 top baseball books. This books belongs. Many of baseball's present day problems can be traced back to the late 1880's when both players and owners rangled over such concerns as high salaries and the ...

Black Rock: A Time For Love 3 reviews
The Wild Rose Press, 2008
Great Read! I never thought I'd enjoy a romance story, but enjoyed other books by this author and thought I'd try this one. I wasn't sorry. Roxanne and Collin's story was intriguing and different than some time travels I've read. There was plenty of suspense and sizzling love scenes to keep me entertained and I even got misty eyed while reading the last chapter. I'll be watching for more from Ms. Parsons.
