My second grade son's favorite book
I highly recommend this book for parents who think their kids are ready to try reading on their own. My son rates this book above the Magic Tree House series and surprisingly above the Pokemon books by Tracey West. I wish they would get on the ball and put out more Wishbone The Early Years books.

A good book
This is a good book for kids who want to know the story of the book it is based on, Heart of the West. It also has another story worked into it, switching back and forth every two or three chapters. It is also funny, and has a small dictionary of unfamiliar words and phrases with their meanings. I highly recommened this book.
