Wiley, 2007
Improving Your Technique Chris Bucher's Lighting-Photoworkshop book is a great guide for any photographer looking to learn understanding and controlling lighting in photography. It starts you off with the very basics of lighting and works you in to more advanced techniques. Anyone can take a picture, but understanding where your light is coming from and how to use it separates the good from the bad.

Vocabulary Workshop: Level A 4 reviews
William H Sadlier, 2005
Outstanding vocabulary builder! This text was introduced to me through my 5th grade son's private school. As a middle school teacher, I am always searching for add-on resources to enhance the public school curriculum. This is without a doubt the best I've found to date. It starts with level A (fifth grade) and runs through level H (twelveth grade). After finding this resource, I ordered a copy of each in the series. I ...

Revisiting The Reading Workshop: Management, Mini-Lessons, & Strategies 3 reviews Barbara Orehovec, Marybeth Alley
Scholastic, Inc., 2003
Quick, user-friendly, and thorough One of THE most helpful books I've ever read regarding reader's workshop. I have used (and shared) this techniques over and over with my students & colleagues. I can't imagine my reader's workshop without this resource! You shouldn't either. It's worth the $15 and then some!! (Also just saw these same ladies came out with one on writer's workshop, can't wait to read that!)

Vocabulary Workshop: Level H 4 reviews Jerome Shostak
William H Sadlier, 2005
Take the diagnostic test beforehand It's a good book. Offers pronounciation, definitions, synonyms, and antonyms, as well as good practice. Chances are there are at least some words you'll learn from the book, even if you do well on the diagnostic test but I still suggest that you take that test to see if you should get a higher level book.

Vocabulary Workshop: Level B (Vocabulary Workshop) 3 reviews Jerome Shostak
William H Sadlier, 2005
Vocabulary Workshop Series by Jerome Shostak This vocabulary series is the best one that I have found to illustrate how the word is most often used. The vocabulary list is also well thought out; the words are actually in frequent use. You can't go wrong buying this series.

The ultimate knitting book Elizabeth Zimmermann is most knitter's guru, up there with Alice Starmore! But EZ is more "hands on" than AS, and you can always go back to her book and find something you needed to know about even other people's knitting patterns. She is a star!

Writing Workshop: The Essential Guide 13 reviews Ralph Fletcher, JoAnn Portalupi
Heinemann, 2001
Excellent resource! This book does exactly what it says. It breaks writing workshop down into its essential components and provides the reader with the basic formats of writing worshop. It doesn't give you all of the answers, but at the end of each chapter it provides points for "making it work in the classroom" and an entire chapter on troubleshooting potential problems. Sew Everything Workshop 50 reviews Diana Rupp
Workman Publishing Company, 2007
Great for Beginners I recently decided I needed to know how to sew - I researched a sewing machine and then researched a good beginner's book. That research brought me to Diana Rupp's Sew Everything Workshop. With her book and the guidance of my aunt who sews, I have been able to complete a couple projects quite successfully. I am very excited to continue with the other projects in her book as they range from very ...

Robin Williams Design Workshop, 2nd Edition 36 reviews Robin Williams, John Tollett
Peachpit Press, 2006
very accessible All of Robin Williams' design books are not only well-written, but extremely accessible, and this one is no exception. In fact, this is my favorite of all of her books. I love that she includes so many details about the projects. She even includes detailed colophons in the backs of her books, which is very useful if you are at all interested in fonts and type styles. Even if you do a lot of ...

Vocabulary Workshop: Level F (Vocabulary Workshop) 4 reviews Jerome Shostak
William H Sadlier, 2005
An Excellent Learning Tool As a foreign student who just started learning English 5 years ago, the verbal section is definitely my major obstacle to mastering the SAT. When I first took the PSAT, my verbal percentile was only a 49, but after working through all eight levels of Vocabulary Workshop (A through H) it has increased to a 99 (that was a year ago). Therefore I highly recommend this book to you (sincerely). This ...

Vocabulary Workshop: Level D (Vocabulary Workshop) 12 reviews Jerome Shostak
William H Sadlier, 2005
Really learned a lot I love this series. I used it when I was in school and can remember making fun of some of the words with friends, but I still remember most of them. Now, I use them with my students. I didn't find it hard at all to find answer key, but it is because we order from the publisher. It also has no other supplemental materials, but if you're creative they really aren't needed. We work with the same ...
