Good Book Now Even Better
For anyone who's ever done any kind of commercial cooking this book, and it's earlier version, is a MUST read. I'm a retired line cook and I can assure all potential readers that Tony knows of what he speaks. For 'civilians', the avid home cook or the addicted restaurant patron, this clever work gives an engrossing, entertaining and sometimes scary peek behind the restaurant kitchen door. Chefs ...

Bizarre and Brilliant
When I first read the book description about Cassie Wright taking 600 men in one day, certain questions came to mind. Firstly the pleasure principle, would it build and build to an explosive crescendo by the time she reached Mr. 600. Secondly, its going to be an incredibly long day and an equally long film. would sexual ecstasy come early and if so would she become bored? Perhaps she would have ...

Compelling narrative, excellent advice
Back when I began reading books on writing by established writers, I did it out of a hankering to become a creative writer. As the scales fell from my eyes and I realized that would only happen if I became the host body for a truly talented spirit, I found I still enjoyed reading writers on the theme of their craft. I've read excellent books on the topic by Anne Lamott, John Gardner, Brenda ...

Produced by the University of Chicago Press, the "Manual" is a classic standard for all book endeavors. No need to review this One. It's a major work of scholarship, not only for scholarly documentation, but also for "book making" and "book publishing."

Fantastic read
This book is incredibly well written, the writer has the gift to connect whoever reads the book with the story. It does not matter if you are religious or spiritual, you will connect with her in so many ways. Best book I've read in a very long time and you definitely walk away with something at the end, no doubt.

Very insightful.
This book is a good read and offers some solid advice. It doesn't teach writing, but rather offers tips to keep in mind while writing. I feel that some parts of the book are hypocritical, especially when Zinsser uses some tougher vocabulary, but you cannot expect a teacher, writer, and editor to write a book in "see spot run" style, which is what I'm discovering to be the basis of the negative ...

Finally someone who tells it the way it really is!!
I am a Christian and and writer, and Anne Lamott is the best I have found out there writing on both subjects. You might not agree with something she says but if you stop, think about it, really let it sink in, she usually hits it right on the mark. Reading her book has truly inspired me and helped me to continue to write against all odds. I am going right now to download another Anne Lamott ...

Wonderful!
I read a not so favourable review of this book and almost didnt buy it, but I'm glad I did. It's true, the messages are all very similar in their books, but there is always "something" that stands out in each one, this one really did it for me. It also includes a free Cd of the workshop surrounding the basic thrust of the book which I listen to over and over again. I just love it. Deb

Ron Marlar (a retired USAF officer, college professor, school teacher, living currently in Florida) A primary advantage of The Associated Press Stylebook and Briefing on Media Law is the ease of finding style standards for journalistic writing. Seventy Years of Great Writing about Dining Out, Food, Beverages, and Dieting
In praising Secret Ingredients, I'm torn between praising the writing style or the content more highly. Both are superb.
