Wrongful Death3 reviews
Steven Sarshik

Xlibris Corporation, 2008

Wrongful Death
This mystery-thriller is a suspenseful drama with a great surprise twist at the end which I never saw coming. It starts with a police shooting in Brooklyn and has a riveting courtroom battle. The clever and sarcastic TV reporter made the book humorous too. This book is the best book I've have read in a while and I would recommend it.

Wrongful Death, A: One Child's Fatal Encounter with Public Health and Private Greed9 reviews
Leon Bing

Villard, 1997

I can relate
I can relate to this book. The author did a fabulous job bringing this story to life. I was actually encouraged to write the book about the wrongful death of my son from reading this book. More books need to be written like this. It proves to the world that one should never put all their faith in a doctor or the system. Hats off to you.

Dead Wrong: Violence, Vengeance, and the Victims of Capital Punishment
Richard A. Stack

Praeger Publishers, 2006

Polls indicate that 75 percent of Americans favor the death penalty--but they also show that minds change when individuals are confronted with the facts. This book was written to offer those facts-and to change those minds. The United States is alone among Western democracies in its support for capital punishment, which was only briefly abolished throughout this country between 1972 and 1976. Today, 38 states have some form of capital ...

The Wrong Men: America's Epidemic of Wrongful Death Row Convictions3 reviews
Stanley Cohen

Da Capo Press, 2003

A Must Read - Even If You're Pro-death Penalty, Like Me!
I live in Indiana, very close to the border with Illinois. Our local news comes out of Chicago, Illinois, and since a large portion of the stories included in this non-fiction novel took place in the "Land of Lincoln" I was very familiar with a lot of the cases. As I state in my title of this review, I am pro-death penalty. But I believe this book proves that our judicial system needs to ...

Innocent: Inside Wrongful Conviction Cases2 reviews
Scott Christianson

NYU Press, 2006

A must read for anyone concerned about justice!
I've never read anything quite like this book. The author, who displays an unusual depth and breadth of knowledge about the system, has selected twelve cases of "actual innocence": people who have, through "bad" eyewitness accounts, heresay evidence and/or outright corruption been unjustly convicted and jailed for many years. The stories are HEARTBREAKING and told with great clarity. ...

Wrongful Death: A Memoir (Norton Paperback)7 reviews
Sandra M. Gilbert

W. W. Norton & Company, 1997

Insight
This book accurately reflects the emotions and disorientation experienced by the loved ones of a patient who suffers a sudden, unexpected and - at least in their belief - preventable death. I'm not going to debate the medical merits with the first reviewer, no doubt a physician. But after 20 years of representing malpractice victims in legal proceedings, I can say it truly reflects their pain and ...

freedom
This book inspires not a passive acceptance, but a firm resolve to work effectively to free girls and women from oppression and violence, and to return to their dignity in the full exercise of their rights.
