The PracticeSpot Guide to Promoting Your Teaching Studio: How to make your phone ring, fille your schedule, ...7 reviews
Philip Johnston

PracticeSpot Press, 2004

Great Book!
I was a little skeptical when I ordered this book, but it's full of really good ideas. Philip Johnston has a good grasp on getting your studio business up to speed and keeping it there. I've read several books on the subject, but this one is by far the best. Even if you were to implement only one or two of his ideas it would be well worth the cover price.

This book will remain on my permanent bookshelf...it is a treasure. Took me 1 month to finish as I completed nearly all of the exercises that are placed throughout the book. I would strongly recommend this book if you are looking for guidance to truly learn about yourself and WHY you do those ...

You Can Lead a Politician to Water, But You Can't Make Him Think: Ten Commandments for Texas Politics3 reviews
Kinky Friedman

Simon & Schuster, 2007

The Real Texas
I live in Texas and I am very proud to say that I was one of the 12 % of us here in the Lone Star State who voted for Kinky for governor. Kinky is a true Texan, as this book shows. He loves the state of Texas. His comment that politicians are "by nature shallow and superficial" is very true. In contrast, true Texans have an independent spirit, and that is what makes Texas great. A sense of humor ...

You Don't Need a Title to Be a Leader: How Anyone, Anywhere, Can Make a Positive Difference32 reviews
Mark Sanborn

Doubleday Business, 2006

We can all become leaders in our daily lives
I was intrigued by Mark Sanborn's latest book, YOU DON'T NEED A TITLE TO BE A LEADER, in part because of the title . . . it had been a concept that I had thought about, but had never realized that it could be put into practice . . . and quite easily, too. Sanborn contends that we can each be a leader in our daily lives . . . though the use of real examples involving both people and ...

You Can't Make Me Angry8 reviews
Paul O.

Capizon Publishing, 2003

Just led a men's Al-Anon meeting...
... centered on Paul O's book. If I could only keep one of all the books I've read on sobriety, growth, and maturity, this would be it. Writing at the age of 82, Dr. Paul shares a lifetime's worth of hard-won lessons in simple strong prose. His candor about wrestling with his own faults helps me see him as a flawed but determined fellow traveler, instead of some perfect guru. Dr. Paul ...

Don't Panic - Dinner's in the Freezer: Great-Tasting Meals You Can Make Ahead81 reviews
Susie Martinez, Vanda Howell, ...

Revell, 2005

great timesaver!
This is a great cookbook to get your family back to the dinner table together. My daughters-in-law and I are cooking together once a month and we haven't made anything in the book that we don't like yet. The cost per meal is fairly low and it is great having fresh, home-made food in a hurry. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to start eating at home again.

In an era where we are constantly being bombarded with a pill for every ill, it is refreshing to be reminded that I am still ultimately in charge of my own well-being. I have choices to make and that my future is to a great extent dependent on the actions I take ...

Why Can't You Just Give Me The Number? An Executive's Guide to Using Probabilistic Thinking to Manage Risk ...5 reviews
Patrick Leach

Probabilistic Publishing, 2006

Why Can't You Just Give Me the Number
This book is an excellent read, and covers a technical subject in an interesting often humorous way. This book should be read by all decision analysts and decision making executives/managers, its obvious intended target, but likewise should be read by everyone who is at risk in the world -- that's everybody. Mr. Leach has provided a wealth of insights here that I haven't seen anywhere else. As ...

You Don't Need a Title to Be a Leader: How Anyone, Anywhere, Can Make a Positive Difference2 reviews
Mark Sanborn

WaterBrook Press, 2006

Clear and concise book on Positive impact
I like reading books that have the quality of being an easy read. The power of positive outlook and attitude toward work can not be over estimated. The author does not limit the discussion to the business world, but that is the bulk of the focus. It is easy to become self absorbed in the day to day activities without really considering the impacts of our actions. This book draws attention to ...

I have read several other books on clothing and this is one of the best. Unequivocally a keeper. I always wondered why some clothes looked outstanding on me and others made me look like I just got hit by a truck. I have the answer now and will be sure to fill my closet with clothes that flatter my skincolor and tone. Also good advice on classic clothes. Read it a few times and practice! Fast, Fun & Easy Fabric Postcards: Keepsakes You Can Make & Mail (Fast, Fun & Easy)4 reviews
Franki Kohler

C&T Publishing, 2006

more for the sewing machine set
I have to tell you right off, I'm old enough that I had to take Home Economics (or "Home EEECCCK" as we called it) in school simply because I am a female. Allegedly other schools were more progressive at the time, allowing males to take Home Ec and females to take "Shop" (where they learned to make bird feeders). But I took Home Ec and quite got the hang of a sewing machine. My problems with the ...
