I had the 70-200 L F/4 usm without the IS, I returned that lens. Without IS it was not worth keeping for me, to many blurry pictures(must be on a tripod) So I exchanged it for this 70-300 IS USM about the same price too. Love it!! Made it all worth while. It's pretty good at up close, not a macro lens. Great with 300mm, Clear and sharp at all ranges. nice walk around lens for me. Very Happy ...

For the price paid, I can't imagine you would find much better. Yes, it is plastic and yes it doesn't have the quality of an L Series lens, but considering the price, I think you get a lot more than what you pay for.

Canon has nailed it again with another great lens. It does come with a heavy price tag but it is worth the money for the results you will get. This is probably the best all purpose lens I have seen onthe market. If you buy this lens, it will quickly become on of the lenses that is on your camera for most of your shoots. I have yet to find a flaw!

I took a break from the expired Fuji Astia I had bought in bulk to use a nice higher-speed C-41 film, and this didn't disappoint terribly. I was hoping more for the effects I got by cross-processing slide film, but this performed nicely in my Holga.
I never got to use it at night, but I do still have rolls left, so we'll see what happens in the future.

Will not work wih Telescope T-ring
This is not a complaint. But, the Extender will not work as a 'doubler' or Barlow to a telescope like the Meade LX200 series.
I can easily attach my Canon Rebel with a T-ring but the Extender seems to require a lens that it is compatable with. You can't go Camear/Extender/T-ring/Scope.
