Great multi-functional, fast, and compact flash
I bought this flash for my Nikon D40 and find this flash great for several reasons. It is very compact (smaller than your fist), comes with a protective case, seems to be pretty fast (hence the name Speedlight I guess), and best of all it is multi-directional so you can bounce the flash off the ceiling for superior looking indoor shots.

Very handy tool
I purchased this little item to aid in taking pictures at my first wedding. It worked nicely in a large worship center using both the 550ex and 430ex Speedlites and a 30D. I still haven't used it to its fullest but continue to learn. I'll add more to this in the future but just wanted to comment on this handy tool. A little pricy I guess but what in photography isn't?

Great Flash - Don't need the SB800
As a camera hobbyist, this flash does everything I technically need. Great control and very predictable. The SB800 has a lot of other features but I feel in my humble opinion, it's not worth the extra cash. To whomever is reading this, please compare the functions of both to see what you need to determine what is right for you. I use it on my D70.
