I am a big fuss about "authenticity," so I didn't expect to enjoy this recording. I bought it just to waive it in the air as a horror example of a baritone in what was supposed to be a castrato role. Many do not know of this recording, which was made years ago. It is with George Silfies, former Principal Clarinet of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra. This is one of the most musical sets of performances that is available, especially those performances that include the clarinet. I highly recommend this recording!
