A great CD showcasing a GREAT INSTRUMENT
My brother bought me this CD when I started studying cello, and it provided an excellent collection of different celistic styles. All of the tracks are tuneful and many showcase virtuosic playing -- the listener gets a real feel for the variety and depth of the cello's sound. Buy this CD if you love the instrument whose expressive timbre is closest to the human voice -- the cello :-)

It is the best collection of classic masterpieces.
I had this collection and lost it in 2000 when moving to a new house. I took me a time to find it but after having it again I can say it is the most valuable selection of classic music, it is truly the 100 top masterpieces and the sound is excellent.

Nice surprise...
Some of the first music I purchased years ago at Costco, taking a gamble on the quality of pieces chosen, orchestrations, etc.. This remains among some of my favorite collections, as the music is beautiful, rich, and well-done. I ended up buying it about 8 yrs later for my sister b/c she loved it so much.
